I think Anet made a good move by avoiding the “Precursor issue” for this Once a year Wintersday Event.

Unlike some previous Event, especially the Karka one. This Event made a massive wave of violent reactions from many players that didn’t get precursor in their chest. Reporting why their guildie got 2 precursor and they got none and so on..

By looking the said event list for winters day. No boss fights (i guess) that gave Precursors at the end. Only good stuff like The Toymaker Tixx Instance, Minis, Mini Games, Jumping puzzle, gift boxes ETC: and no event that being linked to acquire “Precursors”.

We knew the list of event only dated up to 20th. We don’t know if Anet will came up for new event after the 20th or will be as is until the 3rd of January. But as far as i know, Anet made a good job in this issue.

PS: I would like to Congratulate Anet too for making a good jumping puzzle this Wintersday. Having 3 way route going in the middle of the puzzle makes the puzzle more easier for players to play, especially an Asura like me with a Norn or a Char player Jumping with.. Fixing the issue of overcrowded.

i really thought it was the lag that killed the last event havent seen any reports of it yet. everything seems to run decent i havent encountered a bug yet. so im thinking good event anet maybe this will be the basis for future events

We haven’t seen the end event yet, by the looks of it we’re getting a similar kind of reward setup except with a 15 slot bag and a backpack.

They might not have avoided it at all.

While I am satisfied this time around with the Holiday Event (besides the mini pet issue that is going on), we still haven’t even finished it yet.

We still got two other events to run for the main cities (Hoelbrak and Rata Sum), then whatever events will occur once Tixx arrives in Lion’s Arch. As well as the big finale still to come.

Not saying that they are going to pull yet another “free precursor” moment again, but we have to wait and see what the future holds still. The event is far from over.

Yes, time will tell.. Who knows what will happen after the 20th. But for now, good job Anet.

I’m happy with the rewards on this event. The cool thing is that I have the option to either gamble for an endless tonic or craft a mini-pet toy. And as a Charr, I am loving the little Charr soldiers.

Agree. And I will show my appreciation by buying gems this Friday (payday) because they deserve my well-earned moolah.

This should be the precedent for all future special events. Its spread out allowing everyone to participate. There are good gifts. All of the gem store stuff is cosmetic only, and you can acquire everything with in-game items that are easily obtainable. Wintersday=Win

I love this event. I’m not a very skilled player and had planned to skip the Tixx and Bellchoir events and I’m so glad I gave them a try. It took me longer than most to get the achievements ,but I’ve had a great time doing them.

I’m having just as much fun as I did in Wintersday in GW1… probably more. I’m in no hurry, yet also can’t wait to see what January and February have in store for us.

I never got a precursor from the Karka event but not bummed about it. To be honest the legendaries don’t do much for me. I’ll have to admit though the sceptor one looks cool, but a sceptor with a mesmer is not that great.
