So most of you are probably feeling that perfecting the Toypocalypse is absolutely impossible, I have figured out the simple strategy necessary to go all 10 rounds without losing a single gift Dolyak.

The secret to this strategy is the Toy Repair Gun, during the first 2 rounds it is possible for a single person to kill an entire wave by himself. Here is how you do it:

I. Make Them Fight Eachother
As you the wave spawns quickly run over and reprogram a toy with this order priority:
1. Golem (can not stun golem)
2. Princess
3. Griffin
4. Ventari
5. Soldier
When you do this more or less the entire wave of toys will attacked the reprogrammed toy. Stun the attacking toys (stuns 3 mobs at a time) and when your reprogram comes off cooldown the good toy will either be dead or close to dead. Choose a NEW toy in the group following the same priority order and reprogram the new toy. Rinse and repeat. However, DO NOT KILL THE LAST TOY OF EACH WAVE!

*note you may need 2 or even 3 people on Toy Repair Guns in the later rounds

II. Keep A Toy Alive
At the end of each wave keep a NON-GOLEM toy alive, but spamming the stun on them. This will give your team as much time as you need to build up your fortifications. Use as much time as you need, because that toy ain’t going anywhere as long as you are keeping him stunned.

III. Decoy
Your decoy is much more than just a mere decoy, it has the same abilities as you do. It can both stun and reprogram a totally different toy. So, use your decoy as you engage new waves, it will speed up the process and help keep the whole wave together.

IV. Hay
Every once in a while, you’ll find hay laying around the center area where the dolyaks are. It may seem obvious as to what this is for, but I see so many people ignoring it. The hay can HEAL THE DOLYAKS. It is pretty amazing and you should use them to heal the Dolyaks with the least amount of health.

V. Toxx
So, Toxx sucks. When Toxx spawns 2 or 3 people should immediately pick up Toy Cap Rifles and try to kite Toxx as far away from the center as possible. However, Toxx has a tendency to turn around and make a B line towards your Dolyaks. When this happens try to knock him out with the Rifle Butt ability, but there is a good chance that this will either not work because of Defiance or he will walk right back up to the Dolyak. At this point EVERYONE needs to pick up a Toy Cap Rifle and burn Toxx down as fast as possible. He will go down surprisingly fast if everyone is spamming 1 with the cap rifle.

VI. What should everyone else be doing?
Everyone else should be constantly fortifying defenses and picking off stragglers, there are times when all the toys will just scatter, it is important for everyone to work together swiftly to clean up the mess as fast as possible. Cap Guns are the best at taking down enemies fast. Also, in my opinion the ballistas are far superior to the catapults, espeically as you upgrade them. Catapults have a tendency to just sit there and not attack.

Please comment on what you guys think and if there are any modifications you can suggest.

For some reason a lot of the time I build Catapults, they just sit there, I was with a few groups who tried this and for one reason or another, it didn’t work out. I snowmen were very good at tanking mobs so that the sieges can clean up. I will try this strategy out some more

I saw a few catapults that didnt fire yes, most did though and they do a huge amount of AOE damage.

Ballista shots tend to get blocked by walls/objects/things and the ballista doesnt know any better when this happens and just keeps shooting into the blockage.

Nothing better when something spawns it just immediately dies because 7-8 snowballs land on them from catapults.

Tried your strategy, it works kittenedly well. I did not realize the range on the catapults were so far. whenever a group of mobs spawn a quarter of the map fills up with snowballs

This was the strategy my party used. Only time we really had to attack anything was when Toxx showed up. Otherwise we just kept building, and the Snowmen and Catapults did all the heavy lifting. Closest we came to losing a Dolyak was when Toxx actually ignored the catapults and snowmen attacking him to aim for a Dolyak, but we shut him down pretty fast.

Yeah this is pretty much what I did – just place it wherever you find the snow/scrap, after the 3rd round or so I don’t think anything ever hit the doiyaks again – by the end the doiyaks were all at full health. Don’t waste your time actually trying to kill the mobs with the weapons (except using the rifle against Toxx of course), your time is much better spent building siege typically.

You dont need any strategies whatsoever…

Jus build snowmen and catapults ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE…

(Kithros.7634 got it right, after thrid wave nth can touch your dolyaks, if only u build only catas and snowmen)

when toxx appears jus use rifle skill 1…

tried and tested…with no dolyak deaths

Joined a group and we made it untill the 6th round, then a dolyak died. The second group I joined was succesfull. I was basically just running around with the toy rifle killing all the mobs as soon as possible, while the rest of the team started building stuff. We had no strategy, just kill, build and hope it works out. After Toxx I fed the hay to some injured dolyaks and they were all up to full HP again. Repeat 9 times and you are successfull, if you are in a group of people that know what they are doing. It’s not hard at all. If you are in a group with a bunch of people who do not understand what they are doing, this will be much harder. I was the topscorer, I had almost half of the total score, but that was only because I kept killing while most others kept building. It was just a great teamwork, and I guess I was just lucky anyway. Don’t forget to go stand in the center to heal up (next to that blue circle pillar thing :P)

If you could do this with your guild for example, it would be much easier. Simply build, build and build while one person kites Toxx (for example). Unfortunately it’s much harder to use a tactic like this with pugs, because there will always be people who aren’t listening, people who are leaving, and so on…

I do think this was much eaier than the snowball mayhem achievements btw, I managed to bring back 4 presents yesterday since I was lucky, but before, I couldn’t even pick up a present..
