Just wanted to say I’ve enjoyed the wintersday events and activities. Still working on the puzzle but I get so close every time. As long as there are no one time events. And thank you for giving us all holidays to get the achievements. Good job much better than Halloween an lost shores. Looks like you’ve been listening

Why are you not enjoying it though?

Although I give Anet a hard time in necro forum. I think they did a great job with the wintersday events. The jumping puzzle may suck because I can not complete it but the work involved in making it is quite nice.

Keep up the great work guys.

BTW I like the screeching dolls. Its kind of eerie and would be great for halloween.

Although I found Halloween to be an enjoyable event as well, I have to say Wintersday has shown a higher bar of quality. I can only hope that it continues to get better and better!

I like 90% of the event. But I really like minis, and this gambling box thing ANet seems so attached to is irritating. I’ll pay 1000 gems for a sure minipack, or 350 for a mini individually, but I’m not going to keep shelling out for gambling boxes.

If they weren’t account bound that would be one thing. Then people could trade them, so the poor schmuck who got 15 snowmen wouldn’t be up a creek without a paddle.

I have enjoyed all of the events thus far. Anet has done such an amazing job with everything. To think of the hours spent to create some of these things blows my mind. An incredible amount of talent indeed. I am a designer and just marvel at the beauty of this game. Thank you Anet for creating such a gem.

I mostly enjoy it as well. I was a ‘bit’ perturbed at how the achievements for the snowball fight seemed a bit anti-team oriented, until I realized that it’s kinda OK for the ‘Stopper’ achievement. So I spent a few hours relentlessly sacrificing myself until I got 5 kills and that worked pretty well. It is a shame that the ‘Bringer’ isn’t more team oriented.

The puzzle was too hard for me, so I stopped trying after about 20 times of only making it to about 10 flakes each time. I will never be able to do something that is too rushed with respect to jumping. I can jump when I get time to prepare and think about it (and cheat with speed buffs), but not when I’m carrying a present and happy elf music is mocking me.

And that’s not to say the puzzle is bad, it’s just not something I can do, so I don’t.

I really like the Tixx thing. I don’t want to call it a dungeon, because it isn’t. It’s more of a DE chain that you only get to go to with 5 people. The groups form really fast and easy, everyone seems really nice and helpful, and it’s just kinda silly and fun. I’m not a fan of dungeons at all, but found these really fun (I am a big fan of DEs).

The Bell Choir was perfect. Did well; enjoyed it; not much else to say there.

The snowball fight event was great, just didn’t like the anti-team achievement.

Presents in the world are fun, and much more fun when there are others around to help take down the nasty toys when they pop, though my ranger did well dropping some traps before opening boxes and then jumping in to drop vines quickly then circling them hurling my axe.

Hmm…did I miss any events?

Oh, the only ‘iffy’ thing for me is whether or not they’ll give me another doll frame so I can make the tonic. I made the doll. Had I known it had a better use, I would have bought the doll. I guess we’ll see if they elect to burn me on that or not, but I’m still hopefully we’ll get another chance at frames once Tixx gets to LA.

I’m having a blast too. I just love how festive everything is. I live in a part of the world where we almost never get snow so video games are the only place I can enjoy it. I love having snowball fights(even though I’m usually just playing with the npcs), building snowmen and just seeing the lights and the SNOW! I just love it. Lion’s Arch just feels so warm It’s just so awesome to enjoy Wintersday (Christmas) in the SNOW! The only other thing I could want would be carolers!

I love the toy minis. They are so cute. I don’t buy RNG boxes anymore but I’m ok with not getting all of them. I’m used to that, haha! I’m so glad that there are two sets of weapon skins to buy(love my toy sword!). It’s just awesome.

The music is so great. Thanks for the bell choir game. So much fun. I spend hours there. All in all I love Wintersday. I really needed this. Thanks ArenaNet.

I’ve enjoyed these events a great deal more too. Nice post OP. The artwork and design is just spectacular. I enjoy being in the environments as much if not more than the games themselves I think.

For me I learned a great deal about jumping. Once I got the hang of turning to a new direction before I landed and controling the distance of my jumps, it all began to fall into place. I can’t wait to go back and give the jumping puzzles in game another try. I think I will enjoy them much more, or at least finish them anyway lol.
