It would be really cool if there was a way to get a song composing contest set up for the unbreakable bell.. but it would require unlimited time with it and a little bit of an easier way to get it or something like it to write the song

if the U bell was more easily obtainable then I could see a community around developing more into “sheet music” but more along the lines of playing music you already know and love. Not to mention they need more instruments. I hope that the next time they put in another instrument more people are able to acquire it without going broke in the gem store.

*sigh Went looking for a Bell Choir thread and sort of expected this is what I might find. It was at least what I was thinking too.

I have seen musical intruments in other games with wonderous results. I think most of a player base at least has an appreciation for the work that goes into a good effort.

A well played bell choir is a beautiful thing to hear. I was kind of hoping there might be a few players around. Apparently not many who also have bells.

I’m having a riot playing Xmas music. Tips weren’t expected, but man is this community generous!

I’m loving this addition to the game. I think the next step is a full musical instrument support system. I hopped on youtube, and my jaw dropped when I saw what other MMOs support. Lotro’s music system is crazy!

I want something like this for GW2!

I wouldn’t hold my breath for easily attainable permanent bells, if anything they might cave and add them to the gem store for a premium or make them a difficult crafting recipe that will probably end up costing 50g on the trading post. But the fact is people seem to really want more access to the bell, which means a money making opportunity for Anet.

And if they do make it available year-round by any means, they will NEED to add an option to mute it because not everyone wants to listen to people spamming annoying high pitched notes like jerks in Lion’s Arch, which is most likely what it will be used for a lot more than people who want to play actual songs.

To be honest, I complain about missing notes and so on, but it’s very possible to make stuff with the Bell Choir.

Some further development would be cool, but I’d be happy if there was just some way for those of us without unbreakable bells to make things outside of the Wintersday event.

Otherwise I won’t be able to make any more of these until next year…
