I thought I would farm the jumping puzzle for some presents but I am getting very disheartened by the number of bots doing it.

When you start on the platform waiting for the ice platforms to appear you see all the bots load up next to you then about 1-2 seconds later they all disappear. Then when you get about half way through the course and can see the very end in the distance you can see all the bots just waiting on the last present.

I’m I just wasting my time reporting them? Is there anything we can do about this?

Sorry for the rant and I know I should just QQ more but bots are making everything I try and do in this game to make some gold near worthless. I’m pretty sure it is making people who wouldn’t normally bot start botting.

I’m curious as to why bots (or you for that matter) would think that this jumping puzzle is lucrative enough for gold farming? You’re getting maybe 1 silver per sweater from the event, and 3 sweaters every 4 and 1/2 minutes, (2 and 1/2 if you’re really fast as the first one prior to the next one loading in). That still a very low reward rate of an average of 40s an hour, with a possibility of near 90s if you’re very lucky (both these are not including the 15% deduction based on actually selling the items through the Trading Post).

You know what’s sad/funny? During the first day of this holiday event the sweaters and boxes ran between 5-7s each, and I was able to yield 2 gold an hour in the first 2 hours doing it. That’s when it was worth farming, but not now.

I find it more sad/funny that one of the reasons that the boxes and sweaters decreased in value was because people like you farmed them :P

I caught what I recognise now to be a bot a few nights ago – same guy kept wandering out of the large empty present that you enter the chest area from with a new gift to trade, but in my naivety I didn’t really understand that the turnover was too high for him to be re-doing the puzzle over and over.
