Are we able to repeat the old wintersday events that we’ve completed to get more 250 glue/stuffing daily? Sorry if this has been answered… I tried it yesterday and didn’t get any.

Others could use more while trying to get the inf. morph pots from the forge…

yet you didn’t notice there are other ways of getting glue/stuffing then those dungeons?

Other than the gem shop boxes is there another way? I haven’t found any…

wintersday gifts, random mob loot

All of the in-game gifts drop stuffing and glue, although its relatively rare.

I’ve popped tons of presents and never gotten one… so that’s hardly a reasonable way to get more… inb4 some semantic rubbish that I didn’t ask for it to be reasonable.

I managed to make one pet before the change, now i have two sets of stuffing, no glue and two pet frames. I cant find the glue anywhere. Its very frustrating, I have bank full of stuff from working this and no way to find glue. I really don’t get what the point is in having the parts just disappear like this.

I’m in the same boat. I have plenty of cogs and have enought stuffing for another mini pet, but no glue! Stuffing/glue is expensive in the TP! There should be a reasonable way to get the mats needed to create all 5 mini pets… As it is I have 2 of them…

As most of you received your additional 250 cogs today! Most likely you went to check the price of stuffing or glue. The price has doubled in the last 24 hours.

If you take a quick look at the ‘buy orders’ you will notice most of these end in a 0.
Example would be 1000, 250, 350, 500.

Alright, I have watched the market pretty close for various items/materials since playing GW2. The only time when you see a huge buy order list with none really being filled is someone buying up all the mats, creating buy orders to up the price.. and wait to make a huge profit.

At this rate converting gold into gems and buying the pet off the gem store.. is nearing the same cost as buying 250 stuffing and glue to make a pet. I strongly urge people to check gold to gem conversions before buying these mats. At this point, I myself, am willing to buy gems with my gold just to not allow this Grinch to make any gold off me.

Perhaps those with extra stuffing but no glue or glue and no stuffing would be open to trade straight across with other players that are in the same but opposite boat, so both would be able to complete their pet?

It took me two stacks of both glue and stuffing to get my endless tonic. I login today hoping to either complete more tonics or minis but the price is around 7g? Too rich for my blood.

I only have a few silvers… I started playing in December. Once I got all 5 doll frames I am no longer able to get any materials (stuffing or glue) from the Tixx Infinirarium (did I spell that right?). I only get stupid presents, which give me loads of useless socks.

Since the event will be running until January, I thought “hey, I have plenty of days to get some materials daily” – boy, was I ever wrong. (TT_TT) I even tried doing the event with a new char, but no luck; and now I’m having ideas like… should I destroy a doll frame and try the event again? No, no… that’s a risky thing to do. Bad idea.

How would I be able to complete my collection, if I can’t do so by just being an active player? Please, ArenaNet! Allow us to try our hands at it, and get more materials we need. It’s Christmas and all that afterall No?

All of the in-game gifts drop stuffing and glue, although its relatively rare.

Rare enough that while I got two Endless Toymaker Tonics in the gifts I’ve opened (approx 700 to 800 – not exactly sure), when I did the fifth daily dungeon for my fifth frame, I had 5 extra stuffing and 0 extra glue (I was at 505 stuffing and 750 glue after the 5th day’s dungeon).

I don’t even think those 5 wads came from a gift, but from a random mob drop.

I don’t quite see how anyone has a problem with implementing a way for people to receive more stuffing and glue. By making it a limited supply (which they have done: the chances of getting enough for anything via boxes is insanely low) and using RNG as a means of using the materials some people have received no endless tonics or minis this wintersday. I see your saying that its a gamble and that they should have known but I don’t know one person who didn’t take this gamble so they can hardly be blamed especially when they would be expected the succeed in on average 3/4 tries.

The forces of supply and demand on these items have been heavily influenced by those who could afford to buy a lot of stock when they were cheap to hold it ransom at high prices against those unfortunate souls that RNG did not favour. Personally I bought a lot of stacks of both resources when it was cheap, I didn’t buy it to make a profit, I just simply had enough money and thought I may need it. When the prices skyrocketed I sold a few stacks but after seeing that so many people, especially the newer poorer players were the victim of RNG, I gave the rest away hoping that they would get the item they wanted, that most others seemed to get easily.

I have plenty of gold in this game and I’m starting to feel terrible that I’ve done most of it through trading. I would much rather play a game that doesn’t make it feel necessary to take advantage of these unlucky people, something that it sounds a lot of people feel quite proud of.

tl;dr: Community: be nice. Anet: maybe try to consider how holiday material implementation may be abused your self made greedy community.

I’ve opened around 4000 gifts of different types. Nothing worthwhile to show for it. No unbreakable bell, no toy-maker or endless tonics. Just clothes, snowflakes, 1 stack of 25 stuffing, and a few recipes.

I made the griffon mini and used the rest I had at attempts for endless tonic. No luck on the tonic. I really wish there was a way to grind more stuffing and glue since I spent all my money on gifts….

On a good note though, I opened 20 boxes from TP and got the golem and foostivoo mini. Must have used up all my luck with that

Very disappointed that the only way to get 250 stuffing is thru the Trading Post. Even your vendor does not have an exchange rate for those items with socks/hats/sweaters. This needs to be more customer friendly for a holiday event.

Agreed. Giving more cogs but no ways to get stuffing/glue seemed like a slap in the face, or at best a pretty glaring oversight. I’m holding on to my cogs and frames just in case something later comes along to give glue and stuffing, but I’m not going to buy it off the TP (already bought some before to try for potions, gave the ones I had left away as a gift because the price went up so much).

You can still run the dungeons you missed. You have to go in the Infinarium with your party and select which dungeon you want to run. That’s what I think a lot of people are not aware of. You have to enter the Infinarium in order to selct the dungeon you missed. There is a control panel in the area where you enter.

This is part of the problem with RNG. I’ve opened enough boxes to obtain around 500+ units of ugly clothing and have received zero glue or stuffing through them. I’m surprised/disappointed that they didn’t put glue and stuffing for exchange on the trade-in vendor.

The issue that this person is mentioning he’s running into isn’t that he can’t join the dungeons or even select which one he wants to attend, rather that he can’t get glue OR stuffing that is required to make many of the rewards from this holiday event. For instance he can’t make the Endless Tonics or the Golem Toy mini pet because he is no longer being reward the mats to make them. I to have this issue and I hope Anet allows us to reliably and repeatedly acquire more of the Enchanted Stuffing and Drops of Glue so we can actually enjoy the items they put effort into making.

What doesn’t work – Black Lion is not a reasonable solution as the prices for even ONE of these items is 1 silver. Assuming you had neither Glue or Stuffing you would have to spend 1 gold only to have a CHANCE at getting ONE tonic. That is not including the other mats that you need.

Effect – This makes it very hard for casual, new, or poorer players to enjoy a casual event as they probably don’t have their pockets lined with gold. (Unless they are relatively wealthy IRL and are willing to spend it).

Possible Solution -
1 – Returning the Stuffing and Glue drops to Tixx’s dungeon completion.
2 – Make the Wintersday Gifts drop Glue or Stuffing but maybe only 1 – 5.
3 – Make the holiday vendor sell Glue and Stuffing for the all too plentiful Ugly Wool Socks/Hat/Sweater.

id like to give some feedback to your solutions

1. maybe but not realy. this would make wad/ glue worhless. making the endless tonics worth next to nothing and way to common.and if the reward was to low it would be to grindy.
2. there is already a small chance 25 wad/glue drop from boxes. all boxes have an equal chance of getting them. its a rare drop though. but in the end of the event the price should be alot more wellcomming to poorer people thats why i sold all of mine. and to buy it back later.

I hope you understand why 1 or 3 cant be done. and the 2nd one already is in effect.

I meant to be relatively loose on my solutions and it’s my fault for not stating so in my original post, so apologies.

For your response on 1 yes I realize it would make the items worth less but if that’s the case then simply lower the amount that drops to 100, 50, or even 25.

2, Yes it’s already in effect but that shouldn’t count, as the drop rate for them is less than 0.1%: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Giant_Wintersday_Gift/drop_rate. What I was trying to say is increase the drop rate to something more reasonable and maybe lower how many you get this way people have a much better shot at achieveing their goal without needing to spend gold.

I don’t see why 3 shouldn’t work so long as pricing for each item is made reasonably.

The holiday events aren’t meant to be a stock exchange bonanza, it is literally a time for merry making and spreading cheer. It’s hard for people to spread that cheer when they don’t have the resources to do so.

Would have been nice if the vendor that takes your socks/hats/sweaters would have also had an option to exchange them for stuffing/glue (as they already changed it so you could get extra frames)

I second that idea! Elegant, simple, easy solution. As it is, the stuffing/glue is too expensive to even consider buying, for me.

I agree that the ugly presents for stuffing/glue is a very solution. That way they will still have a bottom price limit so it will never become worthless. Another solution could be to add them as daily rewards to things like the JP. Something like that wouldn’t flood the market and would allow those who have been most unfortunate to give it another stab without breaking the bank.

Either way, for the sake of those left behind, I hope something is implemented to keep these people happy. It’s Wintersday eve kitten
