My issue with timed jumping puzzles
This was a pretty big issue with the Halloween event, because everyone was hopping on those cogs together in one giant lump.
I didn’t really see this as a problem at all in this Wintersday event, though, tbh. They had several paths going at once in there, so I never saw more than just a couple of people with me when I was doing it.
I don’t mean to sound rude, or anything, but: Is pausing for one second to let people pass you that much of an issue, if this is truly a problem for you? Trust me, one or two seconds of pause won’t get you killed.
As Sion says, this puzzle has a lot more flexibility in the actual time constraint. You can afford a short pause or two. Also, don’t get too frustrated early on. When the puzzle starts, everyone is set into one of three paths (gingerbread, snowmen, quaggan). I found once the field was very crowded, but the next two times I was running with just one other person.

I find pausing briefly can get you killed
them due to those less than polite individuals out there and their offensive attitude.
Only if you’re already going slowly. The snowflakes don’t start melting for a while. The place where timing is really important is the rolling snowballs – miss one window and you have to wait around 5 seconds for the next one, while your HP is running out.
