Once upon a time, businesses focused on producing a product or service of quality that people would need or desire. Quality, and perhaps innovation, were the focus. Profits were the end-result, and if another business produced higher quality then they typically received more business. Aggressive business practices then shifted the focus away from quality and toward more of an ends-justify-the-means mentality of make money at any cost. Anet’s approach seems to be a return to quality practices, and this is reflected in these seasonal updates.

I am beyond impressed. First, the music!! Does anyone have any idea what kind of time and money goes into that? Then, there’s the art! Everything comes together to create an ambiance that is unique but totally consistent with this virtual world.

What gets me is that all of this is done without a monthly subscription! Anyway, I never post on these forums….just wanted to take a minute to say thank-you to this company. They are a role-model for the gaming industry.

Agreed Beyond just Wintersday, which is impressive for all the reasons you listed, I think ANet deserves praise for all they do every day to make sure the game runs smoothly.
Despite sometimes odd complaints, it seems to me you guys do everything you can to make your users happy, and that is a rare thing indeed in today’s market overrun by out-of-touch callcenters, automated responses and desinterested staff.
I can’t even think of anyone else who interacts with their users as much as you do, and has a response time of just a few hours.

So a big thank you to everyone from ANet, you are amazing. And happy holidays

SW:ToR put snowballs (“holiday orbs”, lol) in their cash shop and called ’er a day.

I’ve only logged in for about an hour since the patch, but had an absolute blast participating in all the different events. So far, what I’m seeing is more than I could have expected from a holiday event.

This is the kind of thing that lets us all know that the devs appreciate their players.

man oh man… anet really done it this time. After getting numerous game of the year awards they give a spectacular event like no other game could. All this 600MB worth of content for free and it’s not even permanent? We havn’t even seen what Tixx has to offer!!!
Forget all those losers complaining anet. The ones who are complaining are the 1%. 99% of us are ingame busy enjoying at this very moment. Aight gtg do some more exploring. Great job anet!

yeah agree great event even though I messed up in the MF for my mini Quaggan, but love the mini events gj Anet

Jumping puzzle is fun, easier than CT, but imo funnier, employs more mechanics in it. I had the most fun in Bell Choir so far, absolutely love it. Snowball Mayhem also very enjoyable. And all of this is beautifully designed and crafted. Wintersday seems to be great so far, GJ.

I don’t understand why people complain. This is all extra content that is 100% optional. Just enjoy it, they obviously put a lot of work into it. Great job Anet, this is the coolest thing I’ve done in an MMO by far. Can’t wait to see what surprises Tixx has up his tiny sleeve!
