I like playing the Scout, and I always pick it before jumping off the starting tower. Even after the 2 or three resets where you get rezoned, then restarted. I even hit the cloak skill one time and jumped over the edge, only to find I was the stupid Guardian again before I hit the ground. I then have to go and try and get myself killed so I can switch back to Scout. I do enjoy steam rolling people, but otherwise the slowness of the guardian is maddening when trying to get a present or stop the present carrier.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I noticed that it automatically resets you if you don’t choose your profession after the last timer reset (as in you have to wait until it actually starts, then choose, then leave). If it’s still doing it after that then maybe it’s being even more touchy about the timing.

You don’t have to die to change classes, though. Just find a spot out of combat and use the return to base (or whatever) skill, what is it number 9 or something on the skill bar?

Yeah, you have to pick your class after the game actually starts, or it will reset you when you step off.

I was about to post about this.

I’m nearly 100% positive (though not quite) that even if you pick your profession twice (both the first time you can, and after the timer) it still can sometimes reset randomly when you land.

I found it odd that I’d suddenly be something I had specifically not chosen so often.

Overall I found this PvP event fun and finished both achieves, but this was a bit confusing until I realized what was happening, and I liked that there was a class-specific skill still there (though I personally found the Mesmer clone much more useful than whatever my Guardian was getting – the only 2 level 80’s I have – so much so that I don’t remember the Guardian skill you get).
