Winterday is nice and all but snowball mayhem is unfair and heres why if the purpose of the event if for everyone to fight on equal footing without using their skills, why are mesmers allowed to use clones why are elementalists allowed to summon elementals and how does the tanky rifle build even stop someone running with a gift if riflemen Walk with the weapon out and the knockdown rolling snowball is too slow plus short ranged.

i can see everyone mamking mesmers or eles now for this event and chugging stuff away in bank for their mains.

Maybe because every class gets their own skill.I was a warrior with a bull charge.I grabbed a present and used it.Nobody complained.

And it is! Snowball mayhem is just fine, but people will complain about everything no matter what^^

Agreed, it’s fine the way it is IMO ^^

I think the Engie Snowman could us a buff, but aside from that, I’m enjoying it.

At least the thing makes for a quick spot of cover while I’m carrying a present.

missed tht detail as i only played warrior but tried another class recently. the only thing i think could use help is the gift carriers they ll never be captured since they run just as fast as if they wasnt carrying anything , so the scoring system becomes a lets camp at gift spawn while gift carrier runs to base grab new gift and repeat.

are there other ways of getting gifts cant do puzzles nor music since im running at 9-12 fps?

Lay down the snowman on top of the gift instead of picking it up.

I think that off all the classes, the warrior’s is the most powerful since swiftness is golden there, but I get by all right as a mesmer with cloak &clone + sniper shot, with the clone done preferably behind an obstruction. Really though, if you know how to use the classes (support = heal whenever the option’s up and fire through your own ice fields, sit on downed guys and presents with the ball or the wall, heavy = go on leap rampages with powder spray follow up, then just stand there and auto them to death or put away your gun if they manage to get away, save overcharged shot for package carriers and snowball, scout = stealth + sniper shot, rapid fire when they’re downed and evasive shot when they’re dodging) and you remember not to dunk a person as soon as they’re downed (general rule, don’t dunk the person you down), the class skill is hardly a make or break.

it’s a problem because most people think killing other players is their majority

Why is the mesmer clone a problem? It doesn’t event stealth the actual player so it’s so easy to see which one is the clone + if you already have the mesmer targetted you continue shooting the mesmer not the clone. Might as well not have the clone ability there.

The most annoying extra skill I’ve seen is thief with the stealth and guardians seem virtually untouchable and I saw a warrior with double speed buff (picked up + another one?)

Really..? people are complaining about class balance in the dumb little pvp event? you people really will cry foul about anything lol.

well pointless thread was pointless wonder if it can be closed or deleted.

at any rate i just lacked info and tried all classes all seems fair. the only thing i really dont like is gift carries dont lose movement speed whereas rifleman have to walk .

Have you tried putting away your gun?

A one time event skill and the Necro’s is broken…

I love it. I’ve done it on every class I play just to find out what the skill is. I’d say some of them are a bit stronger than others, but honestly, none of them give a huge advantage.

of course but lets say i catch up to carrier what the heck do i do then if the class skill is on cooldown , the knockdown snowball shot will miss as its slow and short ranged and i have to pull out my rifle to use it wich will give carrier 3 seconds more of advantage.even if i close up to them as rifle man i cant do anything because i need to pull out the rifle to attack.

Pulling out the rifle takes no time, and you can do the leap + skill 2 which devastates their health. Use your regular shots after that and depend on your other teammates for knockdowns and spikes to finish the job.

and here i was thinking carriers can use evade rolls/ the problem with skill 2 is the same as flame thrower if your camera isnt perfectly facing the target it will miss for some reason.

You can really say the same of every other class and skill, but one thing you can do is leap to a swiftness buff, put away your gun, and run ahead for an intercept. Heavy does just fine behind enemy lines and will probably be the only class that can DPS an incoming gift carrier. What I usually do, though, is focus on taking out the escort as they won’t retreat, which is usually a death sentence for them.

You think that elementalists and mesmers have the best skills for the snowball battle? Really? I mean, really? ; )

It took me one match of using the elementalist and I said, “Nope.” Different strokes, I guess. Guess it’s a matter of play style.
