Dear ArenaNet,
I can understand that you do not give away stuff like the permanent hairstyle kit too easily, but WHY the hell aren’t they accountbound?
First of all, I’ve spend a LOT of money to buy your gift boxes from the GemStore. I opened 200+ of them (you can sum up the price in Euro for yourself) in the hope to get the permanent hairstyle kit. I even ended up doubting they even EXIST. (I didn’t even get a quaggan mini other than making one in the mystic forge)

And now, I must see a hairstylekit in the TP, for 400Gold! Seriousely… If I had exchanged the gems I bought for my money in gold in the first place, I’d have been able to buy it. Is this what you want your paying customers to experience? Being unlucky in getting something they REALLY want, just to see other people whose only intention is to MAKE GOLD out of these items doing so, because they were luckier than others?

This really bothers me now, and I don’t see ANY point in buying these kind of RNG stuff anymore. The minis are accountbound, while it would have been a lot better to make them tradeable, nd stuff like that, that people will only sell for an insane amount of gold isn’t? Now I know what people meant when they felt ripped off…

Call this QQing, but to me, it really feels like a punch right into the face.
If the boxes were for free, okay, but this… I’m sorry but it hurts!

Hate to say it, but the people willing to buy 200+ boxes are the reason they keep making the damn things! I bought ten, just to see if they had improved the contents based on community feedback, but it seems they are just as much of a rip off as before.

These things only serve the role of a lottery ticket. If you buy a few and get something that sells for 400 gold on the TP, you won the jackpot! If you buy stacks in the hopes of eventually getting the jackpot item, there is a good chance you will just waste your money.

How these things don’t qualify as gambling under various laws is beyond me.

I just had a nightmare about this before waking up this morning and a few hours later it becomes true.

Well I doubt that people who’ve spent so much money now will ever do it again. I won’t, definitely. There are much funier ways to waste your money, really.

If buying gold wasn’t against the rules I’d really think about that. Would have been a much better way to get 400 gold, just buy the kit and say thanks, but as I do not want to loose my account well…. Honest people never go far, that’s a damn fact…

You could have just brought 5 hairstyle kits for 1000 gems. how many times do you really need to change your hair?

if you have the money to through $300 on a digital box then great, but seriously you cant complain that you did, no one forced you. But on a good note you are supporting the game, not like if you buy from the gold sites were your supporting crimes and i hope you get banned for just mentioning it

No one is getting banned for just mentioning it, especially without providing links or stuff.
As for the hairstylestuff – it’s not about how many times I will or won’t do it, it’s about WHY I want to do it.
I’m a roleplayer and I only play Sylvari. They’re plantlike. So what happens if you throw ink into a flower’s water? Right, their petals dye in the same color the ink had.
So if a Sylvari with originally whit petals would drink a lot of cherry-juice… You understand my point? Well… probably not…
But I wouldn’t want to pay 1000 gems each time. The infinite one would just have been perfect…

you spent 20000 gems, you could have brought 20 kits that allowed for 100 hair changes. just saying

You’re one of the many reasons why ANet will keep rolling out these gambling boxes.
Smarten up and don’t waste your money on them.

I think y’all are not getting my point.
I’m not complaining because I spent so much money for the boxes, nor do I say that I’ve been forced to do so by anyone or anything.

I’m just VERY dissappointed that the unlimited hairstyle kit is NOT accountbound, so that lucky one’s who just want to make gold with it are able to. 400 Gold is a hell of an amount. And seeing the only thing you really really really wanted being sold by someone who just wants to make profit because he has no need for it HURTS!

Maybe he just want perma bank or trader access? And don’t care at all about hairstyle kit?
For example, if i accidentally get that hairstyle kit and it will be account bound i will thrash it immediately because for me it useless junk and waste of space. But if it freely tradable i will sell it and buy stuff i want, perma trader or perma bank. See a point?

Well, if you had planned out waiting a couple of days to find out, you’d have your answer before you dumped your money into the gem store.

Personally, I am not a supporter of account bound anything. It might have seemed like a good idea for dealing with the value of rare items in the game, after their experiences with Guild Wars 1.

Unfortunately, the trading post shows us that there will always been expensive items.
