I wanted to try it out to get some achievements, but I don’t think I want to play it again.

The entire opposing team went scout, set in one big zerg in the middle where the gifts drop, and wiped any group that came close.

Half the team dropped, leaving roughly 4 vs. 10 in the center. No chance to win.

150 to 500 or something.

You need a competitive guild group to do well in it. Meaning everyone that isn’t hardcore pvp can’t get the achievements.

Teams should be limited to 5 people max. Scout class shouldn’t have as many advantages over the other two classes.

The profession I find most overpowering is the Supporter. Friggin’ Ice Patches dude.

Also, teams re-balance after every match. Some are going to be blowouts, but I’ve had some good fights. It’s a bit luck-based, but it’s still fun once you get past that initial “I have no idea what I’m doing” phase.

Protips maybe?

- Don’t stomp… Never going to happen, so don’t bother.
- The present always spawns within a reasonable distance of the two regen buff packs in the center. Hide there, and pop out when the package spawns.
- If you have a speed buff (Scout 5), pop it just before you pick up the package. Swiftness will persist, even when all your skills go away.
- Attack from unusual angles, and make thorough use of cover, especially against enemy snipers.
- Don’t be afraid to release the sniper shot early. It does a bucket ton of damage even at half-charge.
- Weapon swap will let your Heavy move at full speed, but you’ll have to draw your weapon again when you want to fight.
- Rolling balls sucks, run away if it’s coming after you, or you will get flattened.

Supporter best class cause of knockdowns. Don’t like assault cause moves too slow.

No chance of survival in the middle with 10 players running around targeting any opposing player in sight. 1 on 1, up to skill if I survive, 10 on 1, knocked out faster than I can get one character to 75% health. No chance.

There is a way over the gorge that allows you to quickly reach the enemy base from yours. Send a Scout or two to hide near the enemy base and snipe gift carriers after their allies abandon them thinking they’re safe.

I found it hugely disappointing. It’s not the whimsical holiday pastime I was hoping for, it’s just PvP without the merest hint of a holiday flavor apart from the decor.
