I love the idea of the bells and the Choir. That was a very enjoyable mini-game. BUT, as soon as I saw there was a bell you could use outside of the mini-game I cringed.

I have heard people doing christmas songs near the bank and that was awesome. I have also heard someone hitting the same key over and over with the same high pitched annoying note. I had to mute my game. I can definitely walk away from the person, but when they are doing it near a group of people that are waiting for something, Dungeon, event, BLTP or whatever, it gets annoying and takes away from what I want to do at that moment.

I have no idea what can be done about this or if anything can be done about it. Maybe if the same key is hit 5 times in a row to silence it or something. I dunno. Trolls will be trolls but this physically hurts when you are not expecting it and are enjoying ALL aspects of the game, sound and all.

In lotro people made scripts to play songs using the instruments in the game. I hope they add a lot more of them in this game and make them cheaper.

In Final Fantasy XI, Bards had ability to play their instruments with the number keys..
It was enjoyable when they had actually practiced playing songs.

I’d welcome guitars/lutes/DRUMS etc. in GW2 as well. with a mute option.

I really like the bells, but I also really liked the music from LOTRO too. I kind wish getting an unbreakable bell was a little easier than hoping for a random drop.

Oooh, if there’s script to play the full version of “Fear Not This Night” using any musical instrument in the game, I’d buy for sure xD

I want to play the full version of that song using the bell, but I’m not sure if the bell notes can cover the entire notes. ^^;;;

Hopefully, someone with lots of bells can try to play it to see if the bell’s range is wide enough to cover the range in full version ^^v

I hope they make the bells permanent, i’m having so much fun. Personal best is 578 so far. How do you get the playable bells? Does it work like in the mini-game?

The Great Toymaker (Middle Part):
61 343 1 343 1 21 (x2), 969 9488 9897, 61 343 1 343 1 21.

Gonna have to look the song up and I’ll try. I got a permanent one. _
And damn, I’M LOVING IT!

If it comes to people who are willingly bothering others: Ignorance is a good way to make them shut up or move to another area, soon they’ll be bored of that.

I’d wish for a removal of the timelimit you have to play the permanent one. It makes no sense. With or without it you are possibly able to bother others, but without it you’re able to play much better and without haste. ^^

In another thread I already wrote, more instruments would be great, even on the Gemstore. We could make bands and play in the cities, or just for our own, for friends… for roleplay events…

I loved this feature in LotRO, although I like playing it by myself much better than using scripts. No need for them at all. Again I beg of Anet to remove the timelimit, other than the the bell is the BEST wintersday-gift I got so far. I’m really happy with it.

I tried to hide somewhere in the grove for practising yesterday, to not bother all the people in the bank area, but what should I say? It didn’t take long until I got a LOT of listeners in front of me, cheering. Along with my festive golem it felt like a little stage. We had a great time out there yesterday, THIS are the moments I like best on wintersday and the game itself.

It’s not about killing all and everything, but about stopping by, have a look, a chat, make friends and just have fun, and THEN go out to kill stuff or explore something.

And the bell is the better way to enjoy the little toilette-breaks during a dungeon than costume-fights, even if they’re funny though. xD

I like the whole bell choir concept but the keys to play music feel awkward to use on my keyboard and I can’t get anything done.
Eight fingers on eight keys really close to each other don’t feel exactly like playing a piano.

Whether something is either wrong or right, someone will always complain about it.

All right… as for “Fear not this Night”, I’ve looked the song up by now.
I fear it be impossible to play the full version. Not because of the range, but because of all those half-tones, but well… I’ll still try it later on.
But this time I’ll hide away in n solo-instance for practising I think. xD

Edit: Ewww grammar… ^^"

What scale do the bells use? I hear them only in the minigame and it’s hard for me to make out among all the other sounds.
