Guild Wars 2

Anyone who has spent time in Rata Sum listening to NPCs knows that there is always the threat of golem uprisings (and there has been at least one in the past). So it seems there is only a fine line between a ‘behaving’ golem and one that rebels against it’s master.

Now, during the toyshop event where you have to paint the blank Princess Dolls, if you shoot a Skritt they complain about how Wintersday is ruined and ‘the big clanker lied’ to them. Is this a hint that Toxx somehow incited the Skritt to occupy the ship?

I haven’t done the Toypocalypse event yet so if this is mentioned somehow there then nvm. =P

From the second I talked to her I figured it out on day one, really.

I had not thought about the whole golem rebellion angle and it’s a good thought, but I don’t think that’s really it. For one thing some of Tixx’ krewe members complain that Toxx’ programming is not as good as it should be, and Tixx himself seems completely unsurprised when Toxx goes on her rampages. It’s as if he expects her to do this from time to time. As for the skritt, I just assumed that Tixx had recruited them to work in the workshop, but I admit that your suggestion is compelling.

One thing, though, that I do believe is this:

Toxx is drunk.

Think about it:

- When she starts fighting, Tixx says “better put her to sleep”. She just needs to sleep it off, you see.

- She says “Hic” a lot because she has the hiccups, a common affect of too much drinking.

- She says that she has the spirit of Wintersday in her. Well, maybe she’s really just had too much Wintersday spirits!

So that’s my story. Toxx got drunk on the Asuran equivalent of eggnog and things got a bit out of hand.

one small error in that plan.. robotic golems cannot get drunk ^^ only drunk in the robot sense would be tinkering with the mainboard or some kind of virus that causes the “drunk” effect. or a malfunction

Maybe like Futurama, she hasn’t had enough to “fuel” :P

Who says golems can’t get drunk? Also, they aren’t robotic. They are magical. With magic, anything is possible.

P.S.: also if you search for Toxx on gw2 wiki you find a page that is very much lacking information about this exact model but! there is an interesting sentence at the bottom of the page quote: “Hic! Do-Not-Resist. I-am-Toxx-hic!” is likely a reference to the Britney Spears song Toxic.
