Can someone enlighten me as to how they are acquired so I can complete my festivities and not pay tribute to the a##hole troll toll players?

Can you please let us know how to get them now? are they normal mob drops, or something different? thanks

I’m guessing stuffing will be 100-150, same for the magic glue, cogs we know for definite are 250 and the frames are probably just one per forge.

hey anthony i just opened 40 of the box’s i got off the gem store, not one bit of stuffing. Got tonics,dyes,snowflakes,mini pets,2 hats, lots of ugly wool,a recipe and 50 personalized presents(opened) but no stuffing. Is this a bug?

Those 2 official Anet statements probably just crashed that market.

No one can make more than 2 minis, so if you have extra stuffing after that, you’ll have to use it for something else other than a mini pet.

You can make endless tonics in the mystic forge with wads and glue. That’s what i want them for. I farmed 50 boxes and got no wads :/. Either i’m super unlucky or it’s way too rare. It makes me wonder if it’s a bug or intended.

I have heard that stuffing in boxes is indeed fairly rare. There’s another thread around here somewhere in which players talk about their luck with boxes and it’s overall not really encouraging. lol

You probably have better odds on getting one of the weapon skins.

So is this statement actually accurate or are we supposed to by them off the TP? It seems we received not nearly enough so far :P

I have run all 5 Tixx instances and I only have 3 sets of 250 stuffing and 2 sets of 250 glue. I cannot get any more of either on subsequent runs, as I only get gifts for rewards now. How much stuffing do you want?

I’ve opened lots of gifts (don’t know how many – maybe 3-400) and not seen any stuffing or glue. About 5 weapons skins, bells and recipes, but never stuffing or glue. So yeah – you’re not particularly unlucky, it’s just really rare. TOO rare, I think.

That was a five day old statement.

If you haven’t done any of the instances, they’re available in Lion’s Arch. If you did them all, and got all the rewards, then you’re pretty much going to have to buy them from the TP if you want more, because opening gifts sounds like a TERRIBLE way to get them.

They should drop in Toypocalypse, and in a decent drop rate.

Currently I don’t see any reason to repeat Toypocalypse once you finished the achievement. You can’t play with friends, and the present you receive isn’t any better than those in the field, not to mention that you lose the chance to loot present boxes if the guy created the instance leaves or d/c. I have just experienced this and it is extremely disheartening, considering that you lose your only reward for all the time spent.

I got 5 cotton doing Toypocalypse. I’d rather spend the 5 silver to buy it off the TP.

I’ve found 7 weapon skins (4 slingshots, 2 swords, 1 princess wand) from presents, 12 bells, every recipe, and hundreds of snowflakes.

I haven’t had stuffing or glue come out once.

How are we getting more than enough when I used all of mine attempting to forge potions?

Similar to the frames, could we get stuffing and glue for sale for ugly wool clothes?

I’ve done Toypocalypse repeatedly and have never gotten any glue or stuffing. I don’t believe for a second that a person could grind that game and get enough materials for even half an item.

I realize it was a 5 day old statement but it should be true regardless. Either we would get enough or we wouldn’t. As of now with endless tonic RNG we do not have nearly enough to get the events items. If we had a method to get more glue and wads then yes we would have enough. Don’t get me started on the cogs.(200 extra for ???)

getting 5 pieces of cotton means you got 5 silver.(realistically 4s 20c but i’ll use your optimistic numbers) 250 wads goes for 2g on my server. So you see those 5 cotton really don’t cover the cost do they?

Yeah its stupid, they gave us the ability to rerun the dungeons ~ but there really isn’t any point unless you get a decent amount of Stuffing/Wads, which you don’t ~ meaning, I’ve got tons of cogs and 4 frames wasting space.

But oh wait, anets response would but ~ well you could ‘buy’ them from the gemstore…no thanks

Well…unfortunately, from everything else they’ve written and done, it seems they definitely meant “more than enough” to craft two minis, not all of them, and not the tonics.

I really don’t get why we have left over cogs though…unless they’re going to be usable next year? Or were they just added as replacements for people whose rewards were bugged for some reason…?

Yes, they were slipped in with the one-time Tixx reward as compensation for anyone who had diminishing returns for the two days it was in effect because of the bug. It was mentioned in an interview that can be found on YouTube by MMORPG.

I used up 250 each trying to get the potion and failed, leaving myself mats only for just 1 frame. It also still takes up 10 of my bank slots. I can’t make my choice if situation stays like this stalemate. Looks like my Wintersday is gonna end before even X’mas arrives.

Toypocalyse is fun and I would repeat it like the Mad King dungeon if it rewards something that we all long for.
