So I’ve just stored a collectible item, Mini Festive Golem.
Where does he end up? From a previous post, I was told somewhere along the lines of a banker or something in some king of invisible sack, like a backpack.

But where do the things actually end up? How do I retrieve it again if I want it back in my inventory?

Go to any of the towns:

Lion’s Arch
The Grove
Divinity’s Reach
Rata Sum
Hoelbrak
Black Citadel

Hit – M – and open up your map, look for a Banker (its icon is a big bag of money.)

There are two tabs on the left side of your Bank, one is your actual bank box, the other is called “Collections”

Anything you store is stashed here for you. Scroll to the very bottom and you can withdraw your Minipet back into your inventory if you so choose. (Collections was made to keep our bank boxes uncluttered, and allow us to deposit resources from all over the world easily, to keep our inventories clean. Only certain items can be deposited, the rest must be stored manually in our banks, at a Banker npc.)

Thanks, but are there any bankers in Black Citadel? I can travel to Lion’s Arch, but it’s a lot easier for me to stay here and find a banker. I must have circled around here dozens of times unable to find the sources I need. Any bankers here, or are those places mandatory? I cannot seem to find a banker in Black Citadel. If you’ve found one, can you notify me on whereabouts they are?

And would merchants be able to do the same? Or is it a banker-only thing? Or are bankers merchants and vice versa… :o

Yes, Black Citadel is the main Char town, and it has a Banker somewhere in it. I rarely go there so I am unsure of where it is. Just shout on map chat.

Anyone in town there should be able to show you the Waypoint closest to the Banker.

You can also look for crafting stations. Any Crafting station can give you access to your bank regardless of your crafting professions.

You can also buy an invisible bag to store your mini collectable and any other items that you want to hang on to. This will stop the collectable from going to your bank and also from being seen by the merchant when you are selling items. I keep my mini and a few weapons that I do not want to accidently sell off to the merchant.

This will save having to go to a bank and recollecting your mini collectable (pet) over and over.

You can find the invisible bags on the Trading Post.

Go to the crafters, the bank is over there.

Incidentally, any crafting station also doubles as a bank, so if you find one of those crafting towns while out exploring the world, you can use the bank there.

Edit:
You can also just jump into your home borderland for WvW and use the bank or a crafting station there. If you don’t want to exit out to Lion’s Arch when you finish, then hit F12 and go to the character select screen, then log back in. It’ll put you back where you started.
