There will be a special free gift that Tixx will dispense in Lion’s Arch when he arrives. December 20th – January 3rd.
I actually think they were going to make it free…. then people started kittening about new players buying brand new accounts were getting a wizards hat, so they made it so the vocal minority crying about a hat now got their hat, consequentially putting a price on all the holiday hats -_-

I’ll gladly take the free Wizard’s Hat, I’m not one to be looking a gift horse in the mouth.
It just seems like a mix-up to me. Santa hats tend to be the silly free headgear of the Christmas season, not Gandalf’s ol’ faithful hat.
