Endless Petrification Tonic
(edited by Jabberwock.9014)
Is this an oversight? Based on preliminary gift opening statistics on reddit you just removed a best in slot item from the game entirely.
Edit: Ok looking at the trading post now it appears supply is beginning to flow in. It took longer than I expected, but ah well.

They took away the sigil of generosity?
How ironic…
One guy opened 500 another opened 1500.
Based on the drop rates from last year (which weren’t high), it is entirely possible that they just didn’t get the item to drop.
Neither of those guys got endless bells or toy maker tonics either.
I would be very disappointed if this item is truly gone.
I guess I didn’t realize drop rates were that low. However it was a 1/2000 chance, and those guys opened 2000 boxes. That doesn’t guarantee it but it’s a good chance to get at least one. To be specific:
1-[(.9995)^2000] = 1 – .36779 = 63.22% chance
Guess I’ll wait for some more data, but it’s not looking good, especially with sigil prices remaining steady. You’d expect prices to tank fast with thousands of players opening gifts
Opened somewhere around 5k boxes. No sigils
That’s a shame. They were one in 2 thousand last year.
Disappointed
I really hope they didn’t remove it. I’m fine with limited-time skins, but making the best weapon mod in the game limited-time is a very bad precedent.
I don’t know I looked and the price was 30 gold and it has gone down. Maybe they just have a really bad drop rate.
Hmm, stock is increasing very slightly, but I don’t know if it’s from panic sellers or what. I would have expected a much faster increase in supply if they weren’t taken out, but maybe the drop rate is just even more abysmal.
If an item becomes expensive anet can never let anyone have it ever again, because then it would be worth less. Economics 101.
So what drops them?
I have seen many people post about opening tons of boxes and none have listed this sigil. It must be really rare I guess.
Or maybe it drops from wintersday enemies, which is my guess for now.

Shouldn’t that be exactly opposite? If an item becomes expensive, Anet should introduce more ways to get it, to make it cost less.
Who needs to drop the sigil? You can still craft it and the recipe is tradable for socks etc.
It isn’t craft able/trade able for socks. It was 40s last wintersday, 30g in November and was 22g last night. So some appear to be trickling in. I just want to know where as I’d like 4-6 for my character and alts.
I am starting to wonder if maybe it is people that had them selling them in case they are available.. it is really slow going on the price. Who knows though. I had sold mine last month thinking they would be back.. but bought another one just in case they are actually gone.
Just to add to this- The lower sigils have not gotten cheaper- You would think that if they are available again that those would be dropping as well? Or maybe it is just because more people are 80 and not opening the smaller gifts?

Ok pretty sure they are not in wintersday boxes this year http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1snco0/for_science_20000_giant_wintersday_gifts_opened/
Maybe they are in the dungeon? I have not ran that yet so have no idea what you get from it.
I must be lucky because i got 1 in the first 100 gifts i opened.
