What's up with Frostgorge and the Claw?

Any time I get close to the first area where you fight the Claw of Jormag, I get feared away. Is this part of this Wintersday update or did it happen earlier?

More foreshadowing, maybe?

Yeah, I guess it was a big. The big crystal that was on the hill is gone now and I can walk up there.

I ran into this the other day when trying to gather from an ori node next to where it spawns, so its not new. I’m guessing its a bug or something related to people failing to kill the claw. The big crystal will remain if you fail during phase 1 at least.
