There’s no way you guys are putting a dent in Amazon’s CDN. The test build probably isn’t available yet and you’re all just downloading a small 404 response a gazillion times.

This is a part of the email I received:
“To ensure that you’re ready to participate when the test begins, we recommend that you begin downloading the new client at least one day before the test.”
Since the test is tomorrow, and the email says “at least ONE day before the test”, I’d assume the client is already up and available for download.
Are you sure Guild Wars 2 uses Amazon’s CDN anyway?
We investigated and noticed there was an issue with the client that you could download on the account website. We now have fixed this issue, but you will have to re-download the executable from the account website, and replace the one you downloaded beforehand.
Please let me know if you’re getting normal speeds with the latest executable.

Your default is the folder where your PPT.exe file is located.
To give a folder to the betaclient simply make a folder you want the game be, copy paste the exe and run the exe from the folder.
It will download all files in the folder where the exe has been started.
Is there a large influx of people trying to download it now? My original client locked up (I assume due to the update rolling out) and now I can’t even get to the account page to download it. :\
ETA: The account page finally loaded after five minutes… and says I don’t even own a copy of GW2. Keeps asking me to purchase but I definitely own it. Was playing just an hour ago! :P

At all the betas of Gw2 we had these issues. They gone after all ppl patched.
it went from 1kb to 500kb but it usually dl at 5mb dont know why it download so slow, is there a way to download it better like a code in the shortcut ??

I did download the new client for a third time. It was averaging around 5mb/sekittenil it got to 65% completed and now it’s back to 100-400kb/sec. Hoping it’s just the load from NA people coming home to snag it.
we’ll see. Cause it’s out of peak hours I can get some DL above the official speed, but I gues 13 Gb isn’t accepted in the fair use policy -.-
I should stay at 13-15 though as it’s the maximum for my connection officially.

Same. Took about 7 hours to download for me and nearly 7 for a friend. It gets to about 70% before crawling… that last 30% was 5 hours! It’s ready, though.
i surrender i have like 18 hours dl this dam client and suddenly when i open it reach 2mb-3 then a few seconds its drop to 200kb/s ¬¬ thanks for wasting my day dl this client
i stopped download at 77% , is there a way to resume? please say yes because i don’t want to download everything all over again?
It will automatically resume where it left off. However, it will show as 0% again. Take note of the number of files left, it will resume at around the same number.

Not sure what you mean by that, but I’ve interrupted multiple times, since each time it restarted, it gave me full speed again.
