Well had a good talk with several guildmates that participated in the stress test yesterday, and had some thoughts about the new borderlands.

One of the things they kept saying was how large and vertical it was. From reading many posts about other people’s experiences and fears about this new map might it be better to replace EBG with the new map initially, and leave the Alpine BL’s?

EBG already tends to have the highest population of all the current BLs, and it is likely that with what I’m hearing about this new map that you will need a huge population to fill it up.

Even T2 servers aren’t going to be able to provide the population that ANet is looking for on this new map(3 versions) to have dynamic fights very often. Especially if they leave it as taking the place of all 3 Alpine BL’s. So I shake my head at thinking how empty this map would be in Bronze tier.

The new bl is biased to one team over the other 2 just like the alpine map is so switching out eb in favour of it will be unfair.

The map is huge though :o

Well, we know they are testing having more people in the current maps. I think this is a lead up to allowing more people to play on the new map because it really does need more than the current map cap to get people to fight. Maybe anet will adjust the server status algorithm at expansion launch as well so all servers can gain more guilds to fill the maps, but this would hurt lower tier servers more so I don’t know if that’s really the answer either…
