in WvW Desert Borderlands Stress Test

Plus’s:

  • The map is really beautiful, nice design
  • The buffs for increased movement speed are nice…and necessary given the size

Delta’s:

  • The “air” area that can push you off the bridge or cliff to your death; that may frustrate some players especially those who have ventured a long ways from spawn only to get pushed off. That part feels too much like PvE puzzle.
  • Noticed when capping the northern-central camp adjacent to the big keep, if there are enemy Dolyaks parked there, the now-friendly NPC’s will attack which put white swords on the map – not sure if the white swords is appropriate for NPC vs. Yaks.
  • A new type of sentry guard and camp lord to fight might be refreshing

Overall: Again a beautiful map area to explore (the spooky NE corner was my favorite), but I worry that it may be hard to jump into the map and quickly find good WvW combat. It feels a bit too much PvE/EoTM Karma Train for my taste. I still have fun in the original borderlands primarily because it does not take long to find other players to fight. I hope this map doesn’t REPLACE the existing borderlands (I haven’t read up on it either way), it would be a fun alternative-play-style OPTIONAL MAP for a change of pace.
