First of all, the waypoint for the garri is way to far from the lord room making it very ineffective. Also, East and West keep not having a waypoint makes it even harder to defend and gives the bigger servers with the numbers the advantage. If you are on another map how do you know your keep is contested without the waypoint? Not every server can afford to have scouts on east and west keep 24/7. If this isn’t changed these maps will be a karma trainers paradise and this is exactly what most of the community doesn’t want.

The original intention on the design of the old borderland maps is to have it the way like EBG has it where each side owns its own lane. But because of how the flow of the maps works out, each server can take full control of their own borderland maps because it was more convenient to keep pushing on the same map as the lane you’re defending and squeeze your opponents out of their lane.

In my opinion, the defending team having its only 1 waypoint is good enough. It creates variability and most importantly creates a winner/loser situation on any given time slot of the day. The only way where this can be unfair is if a server grossly out-covers the other two, but then again they shouldn’t be in the tier for long if this was the case.

There wouldnt be an issue if anet added rewards for scouting and patrolling and looking after a tower.

But because there isnt, and it isnt fun or engaging, people cannot be bothered unless as you said rich organised servers offer gold to scouts.

About your first point: waypoints were never intended to be active between the timers so this may be intentionally.

I thought that only the keep on your side of the map has a wp for you? They said it works like eotm. This would allow you to at least have an indication for your keep. If you want to hold the other keeps you will need scouts.
Anyways it will hopefully be much harder to defend the other keeps. We will have to see how the non accessable wayboints and the longer travel distance will affect zerg gameplay.

Did they address the fundamental design flaw that is gates that melt way too quickly for any response to reach the towers before they flip?

Even with suckers, oops I mean scouts, standing in a keep it’s almost impossible to defend before it’s capped, and that’s with a waypoint as the 3 minute timer means no one will reach it in time anyway.

Making it worse won’t be anything but promote more karma training and less defending, especially if there are no rewards for defenders.

Oh great, so it’ll work like EBG you say? You’ll have to defend your corner on all four maps? not many server have this type of coverage except t1 and t2 when it comes to NA servers. people already don’t want to defend now you have to do this on 4 maps? Good luck with that. It’ll be karma train central in mostly every tier.

I just wanted to point out that when HoT comes out, even the current alpine maps will the change of waypoints being taken out of the side keeps and placed in the spawn towers. The whole concept of each team holding their own boarderlands and then fighting for slightly more control in EBG seems really boring to me. I love the hold your section approach to each map.
