API connectivity problem?
Seems to work for me; in general the server will kick back a HTTP 502 response after about a minute or so. If you don’t get a response at all forever, there’s something weird going on.
The way you’ve phrased it — “making connections to the server until it times out” — makes me think there’s a routing issue somewhere on the internet that’s blocking connectivity between you and our datacenter.
It may have been a local problem – but I also tried from a server in another network, handled by a different company than ours, and it had the same problems.
Good thing: now everything works correctly again. ;-)
Hey Lawton,
serveral times today i got “HTTP 503. Service unavailable” when i call the (pvp) API-Endpoint(s). That’s not at every call but every 2nd to 3rd call throws this error since at least this morning (since about 8 – 10 hours). Are there any new restrictions atm to call the api just x times / minute? Or is it just a connectivity/loadbalancer-/server-problem?
Greetings
Chris

That’s an issue on our side; we had some connectivity errors this morning which caused some things to temporarily break. Lemmie know if you’re still having issues and I’ll check it out.
Hi Lawton,
thanks for letting me/us know. I’ve checked the Backend-Logs: Service temporary unavailable just one minute ago But it could be that it needs some time to settle down…
Greetings

Hey Lawton,
it is not just the API.
account.guildwars.com, all rss feed urls and so on have some 503 trouble too. JFYI :P

Hey Lawton,
seems that the hickups are gone. There are no more 503-errors on my backend-scripts. Horray!
