Is this possible? If data is collected for a large enough timeframe with the help of the api it should be possible to write a pogram analysing behaviour-patterns and applying them to the data from the API, giving an accurate prediction for troup movements.

Scary

Possible, yes. It could be accurate to some extent too, but obviously not certain.

It would be interesting to see how the existence of such an app would affect player behavior. Some players would try to move to counter their opponents’ next predicted moves, while others would constantly trying to remain unpredictable.

Also, don’t expect anything like this from Arenanet.

You would need some fairly fine grained data before you could predict troop movement (use that term VERY loosely). With what we have currently, you could probably predict which side would win in a hypothetical matchup. Either way it would take collecting the data over a very long time.

Would it be so hard to predict if, when the enemy takes a certain camp, what next steps he will most likely take?
