A month has past. How are liking the game?
I was just about to create a ‘one month after release’ thread myself.
So far, loving the game. I’m most excited to see where it’ll go from here. If I remember correctly, ANet did promise a ‘what lies ahead’ blog, and I think today is the perfect opportunity for such a blog.
hehe.. glad I beat you to it.
hehe.. glad I beat you to it.You see I have a blog @ MMORPG.com about the game. I did a poll a week after release and I said I would do one again today.
BTW thanks to all those that have followed the link and voted so far.
I plan on show the results of both polls in my next blog entry
Hooked on the game, hope the feeling lasts.
and it’s passed.

My Wife hates the game because I love it.
I started playing a bit more this past week and I am getting sucked in the more I play.
I spent the last 2 weeks playing around with character creation and leveling characters to level 6-8ish just to get a feel for them and their respective starting zones. I didn’t even cover half of the combinations available.
Character creation is awesome. I could honestly say that I spent a good 20 hours just fooling around with different races/professions/looks. Job really well done on this often overlooked aspect.
The graphics and the art direction is impressive. Just yesterday I took my Norn for a stroll out of Hoelbrak and headed to Lion’s Arch and then Divinity’s reach. 2 words: Jaw dropping. The zones truly feel epic in size and details. Just the fact that I could enter a farmhouse in the field and open and close the doors made me feel all giddy inside. Those are the kinds of details that truly show the devs passion for their work.
All the features: dynamic events, wvwvw, quests, underwater environments (also jaw dropping), living breathing npc’s, coop tagging/nodes/looting/xp, just to name a few are such a breath of fresh air it will be hard to go back to the more traditional mmo’s.
I will stop here before I lose myself and write an essay but to sum it up, it is the first time in a long time that a game truly got to me like GW2 does. I think Arenanet and everyone involved really knew what they were doing and had an idea and a vision for this game and it shows in every pixel of it.
Tldr: I love it.

I made a point of not buying into the hype. I must say I’m still a little dissapointed. I don’t feel heroic, I feel part of the zerg. There is a lot of repetition in the game, you fight undead throughout most of the game for example. PvE at 80 is terrible.
I’m not going to ask for a refund but even though my expectation weren’t high, I’m not impressed.
You can post your comments here.
But if you could follow the link below and answer the simple 1-10 poll I have at that site since we can’t make a poll in these forums.

Still enjoying it a great deal. I play a lot less simply because my work is seasonal and mid to late Fall is very busy. Also, I don’t only play GW2. I will always love that there is no monthly fee.

Best MMORPG I have ever played and will continue to play it for a very long time.
crack addicted, best pvp in an mmo so far.
I havent played it since launch week.
I wish I could play a little less but I just can’t =)
The game is still fantastic on my book. They just need to focus on bug hunting (and I believe they are, already), a bit of class balance and it can’t be any better.
Loving it. Playing every chance I get, and losing hours of time immersed in the world. It’s everything I expected and hoped it would be, and more.
I havent played it since launch week.
And yet.. here you are, still posting in the forums, crying, whining and trying so desperately to get others to know of your dislike for the game. lol.
On topic- Still loving it. Play a few hours a night, exploring and farming. Just dinged 70 last night, can’t wait for 80.
Lady Raevyn – 11 Necromancer – TC
Fanboy- The New Godwin’s Law.
Love it currently, played 114 hours so far. Will admit i am a tad worried about reaching 80 and not having much to do, but i do plan on running alts so it shall be a long, long time before i need to worry about that.
I’m still having a blast. This is the only MMO I’ve ever played that I’ve enjoy all the classes. I like that there are small goals to be met, and long-term ones for me too!
Overall I like it. Hate the crafting & camera/fov though.
I just spent some time reading through Nemmar’s posts and all I have to say is: wow, how can you possibly keep yourself still coming here to post about a game you so much dislike is beyond reasoning. It must be a pain to you.
After like 20 or so posts without anything good at all to say about the game I just stopped reading.
Nothing else to do with your time or just find it fun to bash something you clearly won’t ever like for a hobby? Really, if there was hope I could understand you come here, day after day, posting about everything you hate on this game, hoping for something to change, but you just happen to dislike so many aspects of the game that I wonder why do you bother, at all.
Sometimes I feel inclined to believe some pleople are just being paid to post bad things about the game.

I’m still enjoying the game as much as I did in the BWEs and headstart and hope for years more of gameplay!

hmm didn’t know that.
i’ll understand if you don’t then

I hope they release the ‘what lies ahead’ blog and start PvPing more :P
I want to fight the creator-designer of the Engineer class :P
Played daily since the head start, over four hours a day, all eight professions, all crafting disciplines across the characters and LOVING it still.
Yes, annoying glitches with skill points and DEs abound, but this game is still going to keep me busy for a long time.
My only worry is that one month in I’m still playing far too much. My apartment is a disaster! Anet should really send someone over to do something about that – they have a responsibility to their customers, after all.
I’m a month in and playing way too much… kind of like dybryd.
The only difference between now and then is that I’m not actually getting anything done in-game like I was a month ago despite putting in the same amount of hours. The endgame is killing me almost as much as my addiction to it >_<
Menorah | Charr Cat | Some Cat Thing
Still running my old RRR build because why not
I loved leveling up but once you hit 80 the game really drops off I dont like pvp and dont feel like rolling an alt to do the same thing over again. I really think it needs end game or I will be shelving the game, because there is really nothing to do once you hit 80 and get the skins you want which takes like 10-15 hours now with the dungeon tokens the way they are.
I love the game, it has so much to it (Just not being your standard themepark MMO telling you where to go put’s a lot of people off I think, but personally I’m use to sandbox’s and the fact that I dislike PvE raiding, it all suits me fine)
I’ve just had a hell of a lot going on this week and I’ve found very little time to play, I have a nice guild but people need motivation to talk and I’m worried not being around is going to have people leaving so I might end up enjoying the game less with no one to talk to. We’ll see, I hope that’s not the case.
i love GW2 also
leveled my ranger at 80 and now i am leveling a guardian :P not the games fault but ranger didnt’ hooked me up..
i am having a blast
GW2 <3 <3

Haha tell me about it ! My playing time is already limited so training and doing the laundry bites the dust !
