[API APP] Windows Phone 8 Dynamic Events App
That’s a really nice app. I’ve only spent a few minutes playing with it so far, but I look forward having a little screen beside me displaying active content to head to, or an alternative to GW2stuff.
There are a few things that would (for me anyway) make it nicer though.
A way to set a default server, to skip one of the screens when starting the app,
Being able to disable certain content (like all non-active events for example),
And finally, when you click on an event it would be great if it gives some information such as location.
The first two I have no clue how to do, it will be specific to coding for WP8 I expect, but the third, you could possibly do by fetching data from GW2W, or having a full pre-loaded gw2 map and selecting an event would load some x-y position on the map… Just something to make it a bit easier to find the events.
One last thing; your app isn’t appearing in the store when I search it on my phone. I had to go through internet explorer and click the link you posted here to download it. I’m in Australia, so maybe the localisation is messing with it.
Great job on the app, keep up the good work.
PS: Oh! One last thing that would be fantastic; a tick box for events so I can say “Yep, I’ve killed Jormag today, no need to repeat that boss.” Possibly having it reset with the daily…
Link, that was an awesome feedback and I thank you for that.
We will work on saving your default server and filter events by status on the next update.
Unfortunately, location and other kind of information about the events are not avaiable with this version of ARENANET’s API (as far as I know) but I’ll definitely look up for a work around.
I guess if you serch now the app will show up on your phone. It was a fresh link and it takes a few hours for MS to make it avaiable for every market.
And yeah, the tick box is a great idea. I’ll see what I can do

Looks great however I’d advise you to make it supported by WP7 devices as well (half of the devices around the world are still WP7).
I’ll give you a review gladly when I can test it on my Lumia 800.
