Updated every 20 minutes based on current TP prices.
(edited by xanthic.9478)
These guides have come a long way since I first posted them on December 24th. From the initial “check prices on base mats, craft everything and output to a text file for armor and weapon crafts” to the current incarnation.
Features:
Fast guides craft the same item for a 25 point chunk. They are more expensive than normal guides but require a lot less inventory space and attention.
Feel free to ask any questions, provide suggestions or leave comments. I am still looking for things to add to the FAQ.

Fantastic. I haven’t tried it yet but that is some amazing work.
Thanks alot! Crafted my Jewelcrafting to 400 in 50 minutes. The guide is correct although
I had some leftover crafting items. No problem at all.
It cost me around 1,90g after I sold everything. Really cheap.
(edited by Aralon.7501)
Thanks for the feedback, do you happen to remember what items? The guide probably told you to make some adorned jewels and maybe an ornate jewel (They would be included in the sell list at the top).
No, I can’t remember what items. I only remember that i had “some” mats leftover.

I’m doing cooking now,
Make: 13 Bowl of Fancy Bean Chili, but I could only make 12 of it. Probably my fault…

Which ingredient was missing? I’m looking over the current cooking_karma guide(it’s updated since you posted) and the ingredients check out for that one — can you save your guide and upload it to pastebin or something?
It was my fault, I didn’t buy enough of the ingredients. Uploading my guide? What do you mean?
I’d meant just upload the html of the page you followed to pastebin so I could see it(I don’t currently keep a local backup of pages). But if it was user error, no need then.
Ran across the site tonight, really nice. Its even ‘clean’ from a jscript perspective (rare nowadays). Thank you.
One interesting observation – I’m looking at your totals page, and its broken down by tier. If you ignore cooking for a moment, I noticed that its actually cheaper to train four of the crafts to 150 than it is to train Artificing (currently the cheapest by ~20sil) to 400. IIRC that’s going to be 15-20 levels for about 1.5 less gold (and you don’t intend to take a craft to 400 anyway).
If my math is off someplace (either for the gold or the XP/leveling) please let me know – it just seemed interesting to a penny-pincher like me. ;-)
does this take into account crafting boosters?

0-150 is 2 levels(1-100 is 1% per per level, 101-200 is 2% per level, etc). So it would be 8 levels. But it is reasonably close price wise. If you ever decided to finish a craft it would cost 10 copper * level (so 15 silver in this example) to switch back to a craft.

Crafting boosters are a 50% crit rate boost. From the FAQ:
Q) Various questions about crit rate/chance.
A) This script assumes a 0% crit rate, so crits may reduce the number of crafts needed.
I’ll reword the FAQ to specifically mention boosters.

OK, that’s where my math was off, thanks.
My personal exercise was to see if you could gain 20 levels over more crafts (to a smaller level) for the same cost as just one craft to 400. This assumes a ‘clean’ character that will not incur the switch cost.
I currently have a new combination of Cooking and two others that should advance 19.75 levels with ~ 3 Gold 96 Silver.
Again, thanks for this. It will be interesting to see how the bucket prices evolve over time.

Amazing work!
great site, really. in the future, could you insert the guides when using a crafting booster (like a tickbox or something like that)? i don’t think it should be to hard to implement, as the guides should remain the same with only deacreased quantity of materials needed. but i have no idea how it really works, so i could be wrong
…the guides when using a crafting booster…
Crafting boosters only provide a 50% additive, with wvw, bonus to critical chance and nothing else. So conceivably you can use a crafting booster and get 0 crits thus still needing a full guide. Guides need to be based around that worst case scenario, 0 critical crafts, or some people will find themselves stuck with a guide that doesn’t give them enough points.
I’m stuck at 375 artificing. I’ve done the steps mentioned but I’m still 15 levels away from 400?

If you are stuck at about ~383-385 it means you made masterwork insignia/inscription instead of rare insignia/inscription.
I’ll fix the guides suggesting Plated Dowels as a prior tier item when I get home.(While it is technically better xp/gold than the other options because of sub parts at that point, it is 0 xp for that actual tier.) Fixed
(edited by xanthic.9478)
Having an issue when crafting where your guide is telling me to buy items not currently available on the TP (even says they’re currently costing “0 copper”). Current example: purchase #12 Giver’s Steel-Plated Inscritpion (0c per) in weaponsmithing. I also just finished tailor and had to spend an extra 360-some odd karma and nearly a gold in order to make my inscriptions that were not available on the tp.
…buy items not currently available on the TP…
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll put in a sanity check to correct that behavior tonight.
Should be fixed now. Put in a check if number for sale = 0.

Awesome guides! Thanks!
One thing I like about gw2wiz is the materials are listed for each tier.
Are you able to implement something g like that?
I’m at 225 for armorsmithing, now I find your guide and I don’t know where to start with getting mats and such for the tier that I am in.
Just a thought =)

Are you able to implement something g like that?…
Click the button next to (ie) “Tier 1, Levels 0-75:” labelled “Buy List(Only Tier 1)”. Already part of the guides.

The guides are kittenin awesome! Thanks, dude.
I can’t get to the site now though since like 3 hours ago. Is it down?

Thanks for those awesome guides. Go to spot for crafting
There might be a problem with the 5-heart version of the cooking guide.
Currently it requires only 2 Kidney Beans, which is a bit strange, because the all-hearts version requires 25 Kidney Beans and lots of other karma ingredients in large quantities.
Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe it’s still correct and it’s just a strange coincidence, but my guess is, that you take the 5 most important heart-ingredients from the all-hearts version and recalculate the quantity. But after that, there is a chance they aren’t the top 5 anymore.
You’ve got it right. I determine the “Top 5” from running the all hearts guide. The top 5 main purpose is to give a guide that is cheaper than no hearts, but a lot less running around than all hearts.( A middle ground as you would).
I’m running into some errors for the Jewelrycrafting guide. Specifically, at 200, it asks me to discover Topaz Gold Earring of Ravaging, but the ingredients won’t show up together in the discovery panel. (Embellished Gilded Topaz Jewel and Gold Hook/Setting don’t go together for some reason.) Also, I suspect there was an error in the buy list as well, as I didn’t have the Topaz Lumps I needed to make the 3 Embellished Gilded Topaz Jewels it asks for in this section. You asked to buy Topaz Nuggets instead, but they aren’t used in the formula.
I’ve run into quite a few issues like these, and can be quite frustrating in an otherwise great app.

The Topaz Lumps are refined from Topaz Nuggets at 125 in some guides ( http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Topaz_Lump ). One of the things I definitely need to make clearer but am unsure how to approach(code wise, I plan on tagging them with a “refine at earlier level”).
3x Embellished Gilded Topaz Jewel(rare not masterwork) + 1x Gold Setting + 1x Gold Hook combined fine in discovery for me. Had you maybe already learned that recipe?
The recipes are pulled directly from the API, meaning no more by hand parsing the wiki, so they are the same as what is in game.
Ah okay, I see what you mean now! Thanks for this. I’m guessing the guide should clarify that it must be followed the whole way through, and if you try to do tiers at different times, it might end up using materials you should have gotten from previous tiers.
Edit: Just tried discovering 3x Embellished Gilded Topaz Jewel(rare not masterwork) + 1x Gold Setting + 1x Gold Hook again and it doesn’t seem to be working. I’m at 223 at the moment.
Edit2: Nevermind, I saw my own error. I had made 3x Embellished Intricate Topaz Jewel instead of Gilded. Sorry for that :p

Ideally you should be able to jump in at any point. Jewelcrafting(and to a similar extent cooking) can have some confusing item flows from point a to point b.
Hi all,
I am a fan of gw2crafs.net, but I’ve to remark two mistakes for the cooking guide:
1) The recipe “Trail Mix” costs 154 karma instaed 35 as mentioned in the guide.
2) The recipe “Griffon Egg Omelet” doesn’t costs karma. It cost 3 silver 68 cupper
greetings
what happened to the traditional guides?
The new addition of 400>500 weapon crafting has as the first recipe to buy as the Giver’s Orichalcum Imbued Inscription. The source of this recipe is from trading in christmas 2012 gifts into a holiday trade vendor… So not only are they not available on the TP, if they were , they would cost more than the entire guide probably. Anyone got a work around?
what happened to the traditional guides?
Ye, im missing them as well. As i have most of the mats on my bank, i dont want to buy anything. And as the mats i have the most off are the cheapest, your traditional guides were much better than the other ones around the web. please add them again
what happened to the traditional guides?
Traditional guides were disabled with the addition of 400-450 and 400-500 guides due to lack of space in the nav bar. They were also disabled so that the guides took less than a certain time to generate.
While the second issue has been dealt with the first issue still exists. When I have more time away from school I’ll try to figure something out.

Click the recipe at the beginning of the guide. It tells you how to acquire it (buy from tp).
