April Fools eSports
Let me guess. You don’t like thieves?
Seriously the 2 games have nothing in common. GW2 has fancy and up to date PvE, old and broken PvP and the combination of the 2 called WvW. LoL has a very toxic community, an average player age of 12 years old and PvP that works and is regularly maintained as well as fun.

They also have a public test realm accessible to anyone, so the voice and opinions of their community is actually heard straight from the community itself, instead of having interpreters and ambassadors moderate between the community and the game developers like here in GW2.
With a public test realm, the players (the people who actually have to play the game) can directly test and provide feedback on upcoming changes. It empowers the community and gives us an opportunity to truly influence the direction of the game that we, in the end, have to play and endure.

A PTR for GW2 would be a once in a year thing. That’s how frequent PvP updates are. You just can’t make PvP work like that even with full transparency and test realms, community-elected coordinators and the likes. 1 major overhaul a year can’t compete with frequent updates. Also in LoL they change basic stuff like CS or jungle mob respawns and rewards and add new champions.

The frequency of updates is proportional to the amount of data from testing collected, feedback recorded, and time spent QAing the proposed changes. Testing conducted by ~10 internal testers versus testing conducted by hundreds to potentially thousands of players in a public test realm means that the sheer increase of data collected by ANet will accelerate updates.
It’s the same process that got Google up and going.
Ok so you have 1000 qualified gamers telling you healing signet is terrible, spirit rangers require no skill and do insane damage, decap engineers are the definition of cheese in conquest and mesmers lack built-in escapes while the only survivability option that’s OP for them is useless for conquest – yet your company has no intentions to change any of this for the next 9 months.
Makes no difference. It’s not that they lacked information on it. It’s that they do not care.
Examples: Dhuumfire, Diamond Skin, RTL nerf, Berserker’s Stance.
Things that cried for a nerf since forever: Automated Response, vigor uptime on dps classes, poison on aoe skills such as Choking Gas and Poison Grenade.
Warrior Healing Signet and the new heals in general are great examples to prove your point Zone.

Hah! That’s hilarious when comparing it to gw2. Unintended genius xD.
Correct me if I’m wrong (don’t play League), but doesn’t that game have lower cooldown skills on average even before the April Fools adjustment because they have a mana system?
Atleast GW2 didnt need 4,5 years after its release , to increase the impact of support :P
But I still dont understand why they dont implant Sona’s healing in real !
25% hp heal every 1 sec in not op !
Her Cleavage is more OP

Correct. If you are a home builder and your home is an example of shoddy workmanship and designs that aren’t thought out: you don’t have a PR problem, you have a competency problem.
I believe the community, collectively, can do a better job balancing the game than the developers could.
I think ArenaNet should put all the knobs for adjusting the game (i.e. spell coefficients, durations, cooldowns, initiative, etc.) into custom arenas, and let the community collectively work toward identifying a ‘standard’.
This way the devlopers allocate their energies to doing all the things they find interesting, like making new healing skills, traits, and other stuff that no one will use, and the community can work on making the game balanced and fun.
I’m so glad that LoL is taking a page from GW2’s book and starting to implement gameplay aspects that will bring it one step closer to being a true eSport.
They are not quite there yet. Maybe next patch they will give every champion 3 more customizable skills and a low cooldown healing skill. Also, they can’t be an eSport without including low cooldown damage immunity sources from dodges and blocks. Furthermore, skillshots need to be removed. Competitive players don’t like the skillshots and juking aspect of the game as it doesn’t require a lot of practice to master.
Who knows, maybe someday LoL’s competitive eSport scene will even start to resemble GW2’s huge competitive scene.

Also, the person who is speaking in the video is none other than Jatt Kittenstomper, 1 of the frontline players for Rawr (#1 NA GvG guild in Guild Wars 1)
Food for thought :p
lol unbelievable that is basically gw2 development direction for ages. LoL devs obviously can poke fun at the dangers of power creep. Mainly that it is not fun to play against. Anet have failed so hard in this regard by designing in a way that boosts power and makes everything frustrating to play against. I hope this latest patch is going to start to turn that round with gw2.
But we need further nerfs next patch too

It’s clear that the people who think it’s an insult don’t play LoL…
It’s a legit game mode, it’s unbalanced as hell, and just for fun, the average skill CD is like 2s, if you thought GW2 was spammy you know nothing…
Btw, if ANYTHING it’s poking fun at Dawngate, which is essentially LoL with shorter CDs, no energy on most characters and an insane amount of gold generation, GW2 is a totally different beast.

Yeah, but it looks A LOT like GW2. Flashy and chaotic.
It’s fun for a while, but it’s unbalanced and can’t be taken seriously.
because he doesn’t know it himself
