There’s plenty of videos showing action during season 2. This video is an acknowledgement of what we had over the season and the guilds on BG that kept fighting through the double team.

We hardly “blobbed” compared to what we were facing throughout season 2. It’s all relative. 50 may be a blob to a group of 20, but when you’re faced against 160 (2 full map zergs), 80 is hardly a blob. We even changed that by around week 6, opting to have multiple 5-10 man teams to back cap camps and bloodlust to keep PPT up while our main zerg barely numbered 20 (and were still wiping JQ and TC zergs due to responses by one of the smaller teams nearby and such).

I remember back in the day when BG used to rip on SoR for cheering about bags when they were losing and cheering about ppt when they were winning.

We ripped on them for going on about “the fights” (and still would, if they were still in T1 – at least I would). Everyone’s cheered about bags since the inception of WvW, since that’s really the only real source of income if you’re a WvW only player.

Therefore your analogy would be more correct in stating that JQ/TC is your coalition of city states (you can decide which one is Sparta, although I’d recommend JQ, TC is more like the Athenians) and they just wrecked the Persian Empire.

The only innovation to come out of BG is the practice of buying guilds. An innovation they share with JQ.

No, there was a time (granted a long time ago – you don’t hear of a lot of innovations coming out of Rome anymore either) where a new definitive build or complimentary set of builds or impressive videos would come from BG at intervals, and would be incorporated into the greater meta.

But haven’t seen much of that over the past year or so – and the endless posts professing concern for “the future of the game” when it was just tears at being frustrated that denarii no longer guaranteed a first place ranking, and that their casual “it’s just part of the game” attitude towards the ruins of servers they stripmined (another of their innovations which spread) only made people care less when they were outnumbered and having less fun.

It’s too bad that with all of the talent they’ve concentrated on that server, the video (which admittedly doesn’t speak for all of them) shows that it’s blobbing as usual. Look for future posts advocating that servers starting at third place in a match and whose names begin with a “B” get a higher population cap.

Relative indeed – 2:1 isn’t a big deal. And it’s fantastic that two-thirds of the way through the tournament you guys realized that you can scatter and do more things in parallel. Although you don’t need 5-10 person teams to take a camp or get bloodlust – that blobby mentality is still there.

I would, mostly seriously but perhaps with a bit of a smirk, recommend that you look up posts detailing small squad tactics, and maybe practice flipping camps solo. Or with a friend if it’s fully upgraded, so that you don’t have swords pop too soon and alert responders.

Also, during the matchup with JQ/TC (I think week 3), at which point did you (the server) collectively go OH kitten. I kinda wanna see some reaction videos of this, like teamspeak/map chat logs/etc.

The matchup week 8 or whatever also interests me. Same reason, wanna see/hear the collective dispair when the mighty BG broke and gave up (see what I did there).

Both of those things I would like to see in video format on these forums.

That’s like saying if you feel good about winning season 1 after buying guilds, the kitten centre is to your left.

The reality is that people outside of T1 don’t really care. Regardless of who wins any particular season, it comes down to who has the best coverage. Congrats? At the very least, it was nice to see two servers punish the guild buyers.

First of all it is TC and JQ.

And you are right they need 2 twice the number of player to win BG. Join BG if you like 80 vs 160.
