This is the problem with the state of WvW in this game right now. We post a video to hype up the finish of the season, congratulating JQ on their victory and thanking our server for not giving up despite all odds, and you all have a problem with that?

Well the part about it not being honourable kind of offset the congratulations. I dunno why you BG players after what happened with your S1 video do not get that it comes across to others as chest thumping.

We don’t care. It’s a game, we’re trying to have fun. You guys all take this so seriously, you need to lighten up and have some fun. Make your own videos and thump your chests all you want. The whole idea is that people who either don’t play gw2 yet or who don’t play WvW will see these and want to get involved. Instead, you guys would have us quietly sit here and play the game without giving it any kind of publicity until it eventually dies. We’re not only trying to hype up our own server, we’re trying to hype up your servers and people who don’t play WvW. If you guys can’t see that through your blind hatred for a group of people who’s characters happen to be stored on a different piece of hardware than yours, then you really need to take a step back and realize that this is just a game, and it’s meant to be fun. The 2v1 in general and all the vitriol we get on these forums is really ridiculous considering.

Come on Jed. Do we really need to boast about our superior pole jumping skills? This is going to get us 2v1’d next season. Don’t be surprised when you see BG and TC jumping on the same pole in season 3!

You’re talking to someone who hates BG as all his post bash BG. His guild is probably to center of organizing the 2v1 against us for feelings of ill will. You’re not going to get through to him I wouldn’t even try.

Cheesy vids like the one in OP, won’t attract anyone but boasting, bully type people (and you already have a quite large “collection” of those). These ostentatious presentations are the expression of that part of BG which drives others in 2v1, or Xv1 against your server. Too bad for those on BG who are both modest and skillful, old time RvR players, who deserve to be honored even by their enemies, and who provide good fights in tier 1 – because they are worthy enemies. But we all need time to “grow up” it seems, and understand that WvW is more like a team sport, where real friends are in rival teams, and fight each other with dedication and honor – and not a war of hatred & bigotry.
There are many players on BG (and on all servers) who deserve our respect, true WvW players, who are really unbroken and it’s a great honor to meet them in battle. They don’t need to make boasting vids, making noise is for those who lack substance. But if you really want to promote WvW gameplay, please, show a bit more decency. We all role-play a bit, but there is a line which should not be crossed (called… sanity).

I guess there’s 3k+ boasting types that the video has attracted. Must be all BG. There is no dishonor in this video I’m sorry you feel that way. If you must 2v1 us for simply making a video I feel as though your small minded and you’re a part of the problem in Tier 1. Continue on though.

This video continues repeating the same line, that we already heard before from BG: “An honorable battle was not presented”. All that is packed in a tone used by real word nations to promote their hate propaganda before an armed conflict (yes, they are both always “right”).

This season was a fail, everyone knew the “winners” from the start, no reasons to “celebrate” such “competition”. We all served our realms, as well as we could, and sometimes even beyond. Two tier 1 servers had to work together, to stop the BG war machine from claiming “victory”, but it seems that not from further boasting… Those who never gave up, are not just on BG. But we need a bit of modesty to accept that. Less crying about how unfair the fate was with us, and more respect towards those who provide us with awesome fights. “You are judged by the quality of your enemies”, and without that, WvW is empty or just boring fights.

The 2v1 was “honorable”, or more exactly, has nothing to do with that word: was not cheating, was not against the rules, was not “unethical” (as being wrong) – and was the only way to stop that huge force amassed on BG. We had to do that, unless you prefer dumb enemies. And because we “had to”, the season was a fail. Now we at least have the decency to not brag about “winning”.

All servers had unsung heroes, core WvW players, a “dying breed” these days, who made great efforts for their servers, BG included. Much respect to them, greetings from JQ. /salute

First of all, Great work on that video Reyana! The work that went into that was amazing and very powerful!

That goes without saying that Jed’s video was totally amazing it as well! :p

Some pretty crappy things have been said about BG, JQ, and TC. If we are ever going to get past them, we need to stop. What was, was and the only thing that matters is what we choose to do moving forward. By continuing to point out each others past mistakes is not helping.

People hate BG, bottom line. It doesnt help by reminding them that the more kittened they are the stronger you get. Its like telling someone who is kittened they are stupid. They are going to get more kittened. If you want to cause more problems that’s a great way of doing it. If you want to solve this we need to work though it. By being jaded and saying people will never change is ignorant and doesn’t help either. If you think someone is in a “guild” that is closed minded you’re judging the entire guild on one person and that isn’t fair.

A server parading around how amazing they are is only good for their ego. If it makes them feel better about themselves then fine. The bottom line is, no change in perception will happen if the perception is lived up to. So everyone that keeps on fanning the flames, you living up to the negative expectations. Turn the other cheek and enjoy the “compliment” you dont have to show the battle scar off to everyone to prove you were there.
