would definitely make warhorn an awesome weapon. though people that daze folks in their wells so theyre effectively inactive probably wouldn’t be a fan of the change.

Anyone have the means to test the following build? I believe it was Ascii who was playing with the idea of an all ascended cavalier build. I tweaked it to how I would build it then took Khalifa’s pvp traits as a template and redid some things.

On the surface it looks pretty sturdy with 1900 toughness + just shy of 2K power with 55% crit chance and 82% crit dmg (after food buffs). Once I have my 100 laurels + 24 guild commendations I was planning to try this but was hoping someone else already has.

Updated with a Fantastic WvWvW Podcast called Lessons from a WvWvW commander. It’s audio only at the moment.

In this weeks Guild Wars 2 Necromancer Podcast, Bas and Bhawb finally manage to get Zombify in for a conversation about the current state of Necromancer Tournament play. Zombify educates a lot of players on the current state of Epidemic and Corrupt Boon in tPvP. They spend a few moments talking about how leaderboards work, and the prospect of solo queueing as a Necromancer.

We also asked him to give us 5 things that currently prevent the necromancer from being more effective in the current tournament mode.

We don’t currently have gameplay video so the Youtube video will take some time to post. We are working on getting some video of Zombify playing in structured at least.

On April 25th, sittingonacouch.com put on a Tournament extravagana that had never before been seen in Guild Wars 2. 30 players showed up and formed 5 specific profession teams. It was a great time full of fun. Here are some of the videos of those matches!

I watched some of game 1.

It’s sad to see how unresponsive the ai on the fleshy is, he just stands around for what seems like forever on that fight at the 5+ min mark.

He has the most issues of any of them. In a later game I was assaulting a treb (really, really easy to do as an MM), and he got stuck on the way up and stood there. In the 5 minute fight, I think the knockback→charge from one side of the dial to the other might have messed him up.

You should watch the other games, we were all pretty rusty on game 1, needed a warmup. Game 2 got a little better and by game 3 we pretty much had it down. There were a few hiccups in later games but overall it was never a shutout, we did pretty good overall.

P.S. The episode isn’t showing up on itunes yet (not that it’s a big deal, this is probably the one BoC podcast I won’t listen through the whole way; hearing yourself talk is weird).

Signet of the Locust has a triple scailing, 15 point trait turns damage compnent into siphoning (thus ignoring armor), but loses power scailing, 10 points to get bloodlust efficiently gives it a 1.66~75 scailing on healing power from 1, it does have a 5 player hit limit like all aoes for damage, but the healing component just takes in head count up to 25 people (since it technically takes a aoe around the targets hit by damage, not around selected target, turning a 5 player hit limit into 25). I did a post about it a few months ago (Dagger life siphon works a lot like it too im terms of fancy scailing).

So… technically speaking you should be able to siphon from up to 25 people, or for over 20k HP. Wow.

it goes up to around 1.3 from 900, so yeah you could a 32k heal (biggest i got was a 19k from the Skelks in AC), problem is, the damage is so low, its just slotting in another heal that can get blocked by each enemy hit, it only siphons from things within the 480 around your main target and most of the time the movement speed will save your kitten when the heal will just give the mob/zerg another second of slapping you onto the ground.

For clarification, juking spells is worthless unless you’re trying to make someone waste an interrupt cooldown. Cancelling a spell triggers the same 4-second cooldown that is triggered when a spell is interrupted.

So if you don’t actually need to heal but want someone to waste an interrupt, juke a heal. But if you’re trying to juke World of Warcraft-style (cast, juke, interrupt, immediately re-cast), it’s not worth it.

Just clarifying this because it might be confusing for people coming from other MMOs.

I was a bit confused :P. Thanks for clearing that up. I was trying it yesterday and going hmmm, there is still a CD.

I tried the Locust Signet in wvwvw several times, and got over 9k twice while fighting zergs. While it really isn’t very effective in tournament play it’s hilariously awesome in wvwvw.

We will be doing the podcast live on Thursday around 5pm. We are hoping to have webcams up as well in the future to give you guys something to look at, but at the moment we aren’t 100% sure how to accomplish this with what we have.

You guys are amazing. Thank you for the awesome information and the great job you guys have done for the Necro community. I’ve been playing since the 3 day Pre Launch and rolled a Necro from the start and haven’t stopped since. In between that time and now there have been some dark days playing a Necro. And when I would search these forums for help they were even darker. Then I found some of Nemesis videos and he brought some hope. Maybe this class isn’t as broken as most like to believe. Then you guys came out with But of Corpse podcast. And with your interviews with some of the top players have been mind blowing to say the least. You guys brought back hope and enjoyment back into the game for me as a Necro player. I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work and efforts to change peoples perspective. Including mine, that was definitely being swayed with all the negative post that was once riddle on here. Keep up the stellar work you guys are doing and Bas, you and your soothing voice will be missed hahaha. I’m sure Gibbly will make a fine replacement.

Oh and one question. I already belong to a guild in blackgate, can I represent 2? I know you can’t do it at the same time. But can one switch back and forth with out having to deleting one? If so I would definitely join you guys on your next round of event’s and represent

yay! Overall, I liked the podcast today. Glad to see some talk on Blood Magic, as I am currently trying out a power Vampiric build for WvW right now. So far, so good but the healing power feels wasted if I am not running staff or focus. Burning sounds fun also, I would actually run condi again for it! . Last thing I will say is something i know wasn’t spoken about, but the minor grandmaster trait for blood magic should be changed! 5% is great, but above 75% would be better!
