Back in the Days of GW1 I used to make ( in game ) money by doing commissioned artwork. I had heard that this was no longer allowed, and as I have yet been unable to find anything to clarify that, I thought it would be prudent to ask around here.

TDLR; is character art for in game money allowed?

Well, this is the official forum. There are more than a few threads with people posting for commission work. I haven’t seen a single post from Anet stating they have issue with it. Alternately, you could PM some of those individuals and ask if they have received any notice from Anet complaining about it.

At the same time, there has yet to be official ANet commentary on the subject.

Which is a shame because I would really love to commission people to draw my Asura, with RL money or Ingame gold..

I was an avid collector/commissioner in GW1 and would love to build up the same art collection from GW2 as well.

and there’s the problem, that is the same answer that i’ve been finding everywhere; not a yes, not a no…

looking at it closer, the ‘no commissions’ policy seems to be Guildwars2guru’s way of dealing with it, not Anets way. and Edusd makes a good point.
