Guild Wars 2

Dear Guild Wars 2 Creators,

I debated long and hard whether or not to spend the 60 dollars on your game. I enjoyed playing Everquest when it first came out a great deal, and I even enjoyed WoW for a while too, but I got extremely tired of it way faster than everyone else. I haven’t played a new game I considered “great” or “on the level” in over 11 years since the original “Starsiege: Tribes”. After much debating, research, and consideration, I threw down the 60 dollars for your game, which was a lot of money for me. What proceeded after buying your game was mind-blowingly far beyond my hopes and expectations.

I still simply can’t believe how good this game is. The graphics and flow of the game are so smooth it’s incredible. It’s absolutely beautiful. The combat is wicked cool and fun. I love all of the abilities and how balanced they are. And on top of all of this, there is a class the “Mesmer” the likes of which I have never played before. It is completely unique and so much ridiculous fun.

Honestly, I can’t even list all of the things I like about this game because there are too many. You took all of the tedious things that I didn’t like about games of the past and obliterated them. I don’t have to click on loot, it just auto-loots, I don’t have to run all the way back, I just click on the “return” button. What is left is forward momentum and new adventures and new experiences. I even get to enjoy all the content because the game scales me down at the lower levels, which was a fantastic idea and I love it. You even have jump puzzles… wow, time warp back to my original NES days… wondrous nostalgia.

I have only been playing 3 days, and I’m only level 16, but I am having by far the greatest gaming experience I’ve had in 11 years and I feel that the amazing joy that I have felt from playing your game has already made it well worth the 60 dollars I payed to play the game. I am so extremely grateful for the time and effort you put into making this game for all of us.

I wanted to give you a heartfelt thank you. I am not an easy gamer to please because I have super high standards, and I haven’t found a game truly “great” in over a decade. I am now a Guild Wars 2 fanboy, and I haven’t said that about a game in a very very long time.

Did I mention the NPC’s make me LoL? “Excelsior! I love getting messages!” and that kobold guy talking nonsense and ending it with “exactly” as if it made sense. Made me laugh so hard.

Who the heck designed this game? It’s creative genius.
