[Fanart] Some of my Guild Wars 2 paintings!
Hi Clockwork Unicorn!
This is superb work. I especially love the 4th one: delicate outlining, the flimsy, almost transluctent butterfly-wings and flower petal clothes, yet accentuated by her strong facial expression and determination. Great character, great mood and color!
As a huge fan of GW1 i have to ask? Do you also draw stuff inpired by Prophecies, Nightfall or Factions?
Best regards
Benjamin
Thank you kindly, Benjamin!
I didn’t paint that much GW1 fanart, but I managed to dig up a couple pieces from around 7 years(!) ago. Talk about a trip down the memory lane, I’d almost forgotten about these!
The first one is my GW1 Mesmer – I still miss that dress, I wish they’d bring it back. The second one is a silly painting of Palawa Joko making a snowman out of bones and scraps, I think it was for a Wintersday contest.
Sorry if they look too dark, they were done on my old CRT monitor. I’d actually brightened both images because they were even darker.
Hey,
thank you for posting some of your older creations ;-) I totally agree and often wish they would bring back more of the original GW stuff (landscapes, armour, weapons etc.) What Speaking of monitor brightness and technical details, what software do you use? Or are these pieces hand-drawn?
Best regards and have fun with the new LS

Great artwork. I totally agree the game lends itself nicely to fan art. My favorite was number four, but mostly because I love the Mesmer
Hey everyone,
It’s been a while! But GW2 continues to be a huge inspiration to me. I got around to making a few more paintings inspired by it.
BenjaminK.8792 – Thank you so much! I’ve been slooowly chipping away at GW1 Factions because I never got around to playing it, and it’s such a gorgeous game. The texture work blows my mind!
As for the software, I use Adobe Photoshop CS6 and everything is hand-drawn with a graphic tablet. Mine is a Wacom Intuos 4 medium size; it’s 8 years old now, but it works very well. I use Corel Painter sometimes, but find it very clunky and slow. Which is a shame, because it’s great for mimicking traditional media feel.
Gaile Gray – My gosh, thank you so much! <3
AzureWolf.9150 – Thank you kindly! Mesmers are the best, aren’t they?
Alright, onto the new stuff. I’ve been live streaming painting, if you’re interested, you can see the sped-up timelapse here. It doesn’t seem I can embed images into the post, so I’ll describe them in attached order.
01. Tiny Salad, my lovely sylvari elementalist
02. Bee, my rockstar ranger, her shiny new Astralaria, and the faithful eagle companion, Aye Cherry
03. Heliotrope, the mesmer, done for the first day of Inktober 2016.
04. “Bestiary”, from 2010! I really liked collecting the pets in GW1, so I painted my mesmer writing into her bestiary.
You just never fail to impress, Clockwork. That’s amazing work. Thanks for sharing.

I remembered your name when I saw it in my topic and could not recall if I did leave a message. (Can’t see a thing on my phone).
I really really love your paintings, especially the asuras and the sylvari.
Gaile Gray – Thank you for being so kind! And a huge thanks for featuring Bee in the Community Showcase last night, that put a huge smile on my face!
Ravel.5701 – Thank you so much! Your artwork is so pretty.
Aw, Pie, I’m flattered! Tiny Punk is so awesome, I really love all the little details you put into the sketch! Her backpack is really cute, and a little creepy.
