GW2 community - you can do better
Hm, feels like someone took a lot of words right out of my mouth there.

That article would carry more weight if not written by someone who admits to being a “Guild Wars 2” addict.
I disagree. Disappoint and frustration breeds hyperbole. It’s better to try to draw out what the actual issue is instead of using the fact that someone’s fingers outpaced their brain as an excuse to ignore obvious problems.
WvW has had several consecutive missteps (IMO). Ranger’s have always been a balacing nightmare (IMO).
Take what the person means to say instead of nitpicking how they say it. In turn, we should all give up on the manifesto discussion. Ancient history and irrelevant to the game we have today.
So only those on the other side of the fence have opinions that hold any weight?
His arguments are bad, and he should feel bad.
“Bitting the end that feeds”, eh ? Well, like hell I’ll do it ! Specially when she wants to trim me to the skin and sell my pelt ! Pffff…
Problem is, and the guy is naive for thinking like he does, the Devs from Anet can’t talk to us, and that is a serious problem (I sure hope one of you guys are reading this right now). I know the PR department is watching veeeeeeeeeery closely on what is said in the name of Anet, and they sure don’t want the flak, but shutting down interations between players and devs is never a good thing on the long run. The only thing you’ll see is players jumping at each other’s throat, thinking they possess the one and only thruth, while the higher-ups behind this are too afraid to stop it because they might get thrown in it without help.
It’s a natural thing; there is some frustration about some things changing, and when we want to ask questions, we get nothing. It doesn’t take long for minds to go wild, and the human imagination sure is impressive sometimes. No wonder the forums can be harsh…
In all honesty, if the devs could speak openly, and tell us what they’re doing, and why they’re doing it, everything could be great ! All Anet has to do is say something along the lines of:
“This is not the general opinion of Arena Net, and we want to make sure this is only a person speaking, not the company as a whole.”
If something had to go wrong, well it’s up to the dev at fault to correct his/her mistake.
Will we see this ? Probaly not.

do you actually believe that this is the opinion of 1 dev only? Anet just shows respect to the people by not throwing their frustration on the players who act like children out of pre-school. The players instead… well, you know the story.
I just ignore the shrieking harpies. GW2 could give them every little thing their heart desires, design the game down to the last pixel just for them and they would still howl.
There is no pleasing or reasoning with them.
