Ghost Thief solo roaming (UPDATED 10/6)
Its not a must watch the person was terrible. GG you killed a noob.
You know that this is just going to provide fuel for the fire, you’re providing ammo for the nerf stealth folks.
i don’t know when was the last time i saw a warrior as bad as that guy lol
-Total War: Warhammer
-Guild Wars 2
Actually I ran across a thief last night that kept wiping my mesmer before I could move- always attacking from range, ie 2000, first skill makes him go into stealth then BOOM immobilised and less than a second later down to dregs of an HP bar and ticking 4-6 conditions, after which one of the other two there would finish me off. He’d have 6-8 boons on after his first hit.
There were 3-4 of us on either side, and he just kept picking us off one by one despite anything we did- although I have to admit we weren’t co ordinated in any way!
Funniest thing is how badly armor scales, as it made no practical difference whether I had 1200 toughness or 2k.
I’m not a fan of stealthed people being able to move normally or faster than normal, or being able to port while stealthed, or being able to immobilise from range and burst without you being able to do anything.
Of course switching to my ele made life easier and as a guardian he didn’t really have much joy at all.
Made me look forward to playing engi aoe stealth reveal after HoT hits, might make thiefs have to learn to rely on other skills than the ‘i win’ stealth mechanic of GW2.

Because aside from the start, he never saw the thief and could never target to counter? Of course he could have run inside. Though I’m not sure that’s a good conclusion to point out -_-u
Anyway, thief OP and all that. Nerf nerf. Give some more fodder for thieves to QQ over. Wouldn’t want to infringe upon their MO.
8 months later and this guy is still horrible.
If you don’t recall, this was also the guy claiming to be the “best guardian NA” and “undefeated 1v1,” posting videos of himself playing a spirit weapon condi guard facing either terrible players (while claiming these players were competent) or people whose builds don’t bring any condi cleanse.
To which I responded by crushing him something like 5-0, and he somewhat disappeared, but it seems like he’s playing a brand new cheese build that also, strangely, only works against absolutely terrible players. Simply don’t click on the video, it’ll waste your time.

Soooo basically you’re bragging about beating a bad player, even going as far as to bring up something no one remembers/cares about AND putting up your score l … lol
Hello there pot, have you met kettle ?

This.
Once HoT is out, Engi will be staple in roaming groups to counter AoE stealth which has been dominating for so long. These cheese builds will be slowly dying too.
- Proudly not going to go DH -
I’m looking at you, Rev..

It’s not a stealth issue, it’s a applying conditions passively while being able to stay in stealth issue…
I play a thief myself, tried the build out and got so bored that I fell asleep at my keyboard.
Passive condition application, the ability to stay in stealth while conditioning someone to death is what most people are against, with the share amount of reveals and stealth traps people have,, your target being in stealth isn’t an issue…

Yawn, another vanity video. If a video doesn’t have a breakdown of how the skills work together AND include losses, it is a pointless vanity video.
“Youre lips are movin and youre complaining about something thats wingeing.”
amazing game play 10/10. who needs to land weapon skills!?
Updated with a fair duel vs a Warrior Berserker specialization

I wasn’t complaining about anything. I was pointing out that those who do complain on a regular basis could use this for their “see, see, I told you so” argument.
More AOE reveal for all classes, i loved the scrapper AOE reveal.

Mesmers can stealth more easily than thieves, they have their portal and a teleport (with a lower cooldown than thief teleport) they have a range of 1200 wheras thief’s max weapon range is 900. I’m a bit confused that you complain about thieves while playing a mesmer… Learn to play mesmer, I guess.
Carried by traps and the stupid trapper runes. Lamest build of all available.
Madness Rises [Rise] – Banners Hold.
Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.

Agreed.
Anet recently nerfed the Mesmer PU trait because of too much stealth.
Then this style of play, with pretty much perma stealth, should be adjusted too.

Ok, on the flip side – can we have on use reflects, aoe daze, aoe boon clear, oh and invulnerabilities as well?

I don’t brag, nor do I care. Never have I told anyone I’m the best guardian NA, or made ridiculous claims about my builds or skill. I simply put him in his place, which is… not very high.
Lol, how is the Warrior bad?! OP was visible only once at the beginning then he was stealthed for the rest of it. The only thing the Warrior could have done is to run which if I were in his shoes I would have.
I’ve fought a few trapper Thieves and they don’t usually manage to stay stealthed for 100% of the fight. But if I don’t see them at least once every 10 seconds or so I just run the hell away. You have no clue where they are other than when you occasionally see a Black Powder drop so you have no way of knowing if you’re hitting them, if they’re right on top of you or if they’ve already left.
I don’t know about trapper Thief being “OP” but it is definitely cheesey and extremely difficult to fight “properly.” The Warrior wasn’t bad he was just panicking trying to fight something he couldn’t see even for one second. The only thing bad he did was not deciding to run away when he realized that it would be stupid to continue trying.
I think some people have a very obscure definition of what makes a good or a bad player. And staying completely invisible for an entire fight does not make you good so please refrain from feeling too MLG while doing it.
I used to play a Trapper Ranger back when traps were throwable and I loved it like crazy. I still miss it a ton but I didn’t ever claim I was skilled because I knew that it lacked counterplay. I knew how to play the BUILD but that didn’t mean I was a good PLAYER. Just because you know how to stay completely invisible doesn’t make you good it just means you can play the build well. If you’re truly good you wouldn’t need to rely on something that eliminates counterplay.
Champion: Phantom, Hunter, Legionnaire, Genius
WvW rank: Diamond Colonel | Maguuma
Think how op that would be if good thief would play cancer like that.
Seafarer’s Rest EotM grinch
I have also encountered this thief build multiple times in wvw and I think it is just plain ridiculous. I found it strange that Anet elected significantly nerf PU Mesmer and just turn a blind eye to this.

Yes.
I don’t think there was any chance for the warrior to win that fight.
Anet just need to add some physical damage to needle trap.
