Winner becomes what I can only assume is some sort of part-time contributor to mmohut.com — a popular F2P MMO portal. If you enjoyed the video, be sure to “Like” it on youtube to help me win the contest. The amount of hate I’ve received over naming GW2 the number one game has been amusing at best. I fully acknowledge the discrepancies between GW2 and the rest of the games on the list, and I acknowledge as much on the video. The problem is that I expected the general population to think outside the box. That one was a bit difficult. As you’ll see, the majority of the comments are all informing me what I already know — that GW2 is not a F2P game.
Yes, GW2 is not F2P; however, all I have to do is pay 60 dollars up front then I can play GW2 for free without having to worry about an unbalanced cash shop. I can’t say the same for games like Runes of Magic or Perfect World where I’d probably end up spending more money. GW2 also presses many of the same buttons as most F2P games. I play a lot of F2P titles in between major P2P releases. GW2 is perfect for that. I question the validity of playing it exclusively for a long period of time, but it is the perfect transitional MMO.
