Guild Wars 2 Farming Guides
Added a bit of information to my Chef farming locations:
http://www.almarsguides.com/gw2/farming/cooking/
I plan to do a writeup on Vanilla Beans when I get the chance as well as Grapes. I also need to figure out what some of the more rare Chef materials are that way I can make guides to cover them!
Anyone out there know any of the rare materials I don’t already have covered? I would appreciate your help forever!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the Oric/AW spawns change locations every time the server is restarted and will be different on each server?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the Oric/AW spawns change locations every time the server is restarted and will be different on each server?
They change locations weekly I think it seems or maybe it is every time the server is reset. As do most gathering nodes. I think however they still have “set” spawn locations and If I am able to document their set spawn locations it should make it easier for people to at least hunt for Orichalcum and Ancient Wood rather than run around blindly wondering where all the nodes are.
I also may have to edit my maps and routes until the servers reset enough times that I can find a perfect route to zig-zag through in each zone.
I found two more good locations this morning while playing. One is in Fireheart Rise, you’ll be killing wolves here for Large Claws and Large Fangs. They have a great drop rate and the wolves always summon an additional wolf while fighting one. Double the loot!
This location is northeast of Breaktooth’s Waypoint, if you’d like to see a picture of where it is exactly here is a link to the guide I have for it:
http://www.almarsguides.com/gw2/farming/locations/FireheartriseWolves.cfm
As of right now it is super duper under construction. The only valuable information on that page are the pictures.
Then I found a great place in Frostgorge Sound that has you farming Skelks and Arctodus (bears) for Vicious Fangs and Vials of Potent Blood. This location is northwest of the Blue Ice Shining Waypoint in southwestern Frostgorge Sound. If you would like to see a picture (once again my guide is NOT finished) take a look at this link here:
http://www.almarsguides.com/gw2/farming/locations/Skelk.cfm
Happy hunting, good luck and don’t forget to bring your Magic Find boosting stuff!
I finished my Skelk guide:
The Skelks and Arctodus’ are one of the many great farming locations you’ll come across in Frostgorge Sound. If you’ve ever killed Skelks before then you probably already know that they have a great drop rate on a lot of rare crafting materials used in all different professions. At this farming location you will commonly find Vials of Potent Blood, Large Fangs, and less commonly drop Vial of Powerful Blood, and Vicious Fangs. Now if you’re familiar with Skelks at all, which you should be, you will know that they’re a tad bit annoying to kill.
Skelks Shadowstep to their target, going Stealth for a brief few seconds and then attacking their target again. It is quite annoying to deal with but well worth it for the goodies that they drop. The Arctodus bears Maul but that is nothing but a little bit extra damage to their attack. Really nothing to worry about if you are level 80. In other words this location is extremely easy to farm, you shouldn’t die a single time here even if your gear is complete and utter crap.
Now to reach this farming location what you will want to do is port to the Blue Ice Shining Waypoint in southwestern Frostgorge Sound. Below is a picture of the Waypoint in relation to the farming location which is circled in blue on my map.
There is very little left to write on the page but I do have a wee little bit left to do.
Tomorrow I plan to finish that guide as well as most of the others. Also I am going to look into the Trolls in Frostgorge that are botted by dozens of people. I’ve gotten a few tips that if you run in there and mark each troll you actually make quite a bit of gold. We shall see!
How do these posts directly relate to the Trading Company?
How do these posts directly relate to the Trading Company?
oh boy……
The trading company is related to the ingame economy whether it be gold, gems, trading, buying, selling, supply, demand, pricing, drop rates, etc… anything to do with economics of the game pretty much.
Farming is figuring out a plan to come up with the most effiecient way possible to gain item X, which will then be eventually introduced into the ingame economy for trade, etc…
It has everything to do with making money and the black lion trading company.
Above poster is right, also sorry for the double post of videos these forums just do not like me at all today, it isn’t even letting me delete one of the posts! I keep getting a proxy error when trying to do it.
not the only issue anyway,
Had to take down the videos for a bit to fix a few things and reupload them so they get monetized. Sorry about that!
Written guides still work though!
Got a few of my videos up and operational now! Here are links to two of them (uploading others now!)

I’ll post the others later once i get them back up!

I’m working on more guides and videos now, hopefully I will have them up and running by tomorrow. Let me know what you guys think!
Could you perhaps make a guide for some lower level farming locations? I’m only at level 39, so none of those places are really possible for me to use yet.
Why do you bother with farming for rare crafting items etc.? If you lvl 80 in Cursed Shore just do events with high MF and some random killing you’ll easily make 1-2g per day.
So many 70+ rare drops, means at least 20s per item (either ecto or direct sale in TP). So don’t bother farming centaurs etc. for a day to get 50s, Cursed Shore 3-5 hours 1-2 g easily.
You already mentioned this in your guide:
http://www.almarsguides.com/gw2/farming/locations/CursedShore/Events.cfm
Just to confirm, this is currently the best place to farm for money. And if you have money you can exchange it pretty much with anything anyway

Since for some odd reason I can’t quote right now…
@Reubend – I am currently working on lower level farming guides, right now Dredgehaunt Cliffs is on my todo list (actually was working on my farming map before I came to post this) By the end of this week expect about 5 – 10 locations for players 1 – 60
@Sentorio – There will always be a best farming location, of course. There will always be a “best” place. But some people like farming specifically for what they need/want (even though farming something else that gives them more money would mean they could buy more of what they wanted with less time spent. I’ve tried explaining this before in WoW but they never wanted to take the advice.)
Also since many people get bored of farming ungodly fast providing different locations helps add some variety to the “boringfulness” of grinding the same areas day after day.
Hope that answers your question! =)

Alright, thanks. I’ll keep an eye out for those
Got a lot of work done today on more Orichalcum/Ancient Wood node spawn locations since the servers just recently reset. I also acquired more information that there are 5 different sets(areas) for each node that can spawn in the high end zones. I am not sure if this is correct or not but I guess eventually with enough server restarts we shall see!
