Heya guys, sharing my solo runs in Orr. I usually read how annoying/hard (depending on who is posting) Orr is but I find it really fun pre Lost Shore patch. ANet now added Lost Shore, and that not only address complaints about Lv80 areas being mostly Orr/Risen, but it also allowed me to solo again some of the events for video-recording . I don’t agree that Thief needs nerf. It’s not like it’s done easy and fast. It requires constant scanning of the environment, killing “adds”, and timing utility skills.

Like I said, just sharing my experience with Orr. If someone got a good laugh and find it a joke, not my intention, but I guess it’s all good if anyone feels happy.

It looks like these mobs are really easy to kill. I think the speed at which their health decreased as you attacked surprised me the most, which allows you to solo it as a thief. I guess they either have very low defense or just low health… That’s kind of disappointing to see. These mobs could use a buff to make it harder.

I think if you used Short Bow, it could have bounced the attacks onto the mobs and caused you lots of unwanted agro from the surrounding mobs. This is a situation where Pistols work well over Short Bow.

Two people would have no trouble with this at all, I’m sure. I duo’ed the champion inside the pirate ship at the southern end of Orr with my GF, night before last, as 80thief & 80elementalist. It was really fun. Did the same with the Champion inside the maze @ Orr, that same night. I’m usually playing with her so I don’t get the time to attempt to solo things; we’re always playing together.

Question, do you use mostly Tough/Vitality stats on your equipment?

Thanks mate. Shortbow is good if you’re in a party, but soloing Champion/Group Event is a bit challenging using Shortbow coz of, you said it right, unwanted agro. Shortbow is also good for normal mobs (Plinx!!!!) and farming and that’s my 3rd weapon. So you get it right, switching P/P and D/D is best, at least IMO, on this kind of situation.

The melee mobs has higher armor (no data, just my experience) and takes some beating to take down. But most mobs, in this video as well, with range attacks are pretty easy to take down. But range mobs have pretty good agro and attack range.

As for my armor/gear, I’m using Full Berserker Lv78 Exotic with Traveller Rune. I resorted to Traveller because of the 5% movement speed bonus on the 6th rune.

My D/D and P/P weapons have Rage and Luck sigils. My SB has crest of traveller for additional magic find. Add this with Cup of Lotus Fries or Omnomberry Bar and Guild Banner and bonus, it’s pretty fun farming at Orr…
