Guild Wars 2 Timers tool
I just fixed a bug that could not let your change region. Thanks to Nepumuk.6071 for reporting this one.
I have uploaded the new version so next time you start the tool it should ask you if you want to update.
Wow, pretty cool mate. Nice work.
We are sworn together by our blood…
Hm… is there any way you’ll be able to incorporate this as one of those… Windows 7 widgets on the right side of your screen if you choose to have them? I know I for one am HORRIBLE about remembering to login/start something (ex: my Xfire that I sometimes entirely forget to login), so if it could be maybe some sorta nice little widget there…
Regardless, very cool idea there. I like the idea of sound notification set to so many minutes before.
Also, perhaps when it actually enters the window, you can make the numbers a different color like the site does?

The tool can already auto-start.
Just open the options popup and you will find a checkbox there to enable auto-start when Windows starts.
Unless you mean something else ?
For the colors, I thought about it but could not find a nice color set that would work. Guild Wars Temple has a black background for each timer that allows the colors to ‘shine’ to the human eye.
I am using a grey background (and don’t ask me to put a black background… yuk…)
That is why I decided to show an icon instead when the event is going on.
But I will try again to find a color set.
Or, just like I use an icon when the event is ongoing, I could use another icon to show that an event is ‘late’.
I will see what I find better.
I fixed 2 annoying issues.
- The timers were not starting at launch
- The sound file was played too often
The new version has been uploaded.
I uploaded a new version with 2 bug fixes:
- Typo in a server name
- Issue with Font resizing
Version 1.1 is out.
I went through the list of features people asked for.
I also added a few of my own.
So this is the first major update of the tool.
- Added icon for outdated events (Icon: a small hourglass)
- Added icon for events that you will get maximum reward for (once every 24H, resets at server daily reset) (Icon: a pile of gold). Right click on the timer for the event you looted already, select ‘Already looted’. This will effectively disable the alert sound for this event until the next server reset. (If you want to re-enable the alert sound, simply unselect ‘Already looted’)
- Showing time remaining until server daily reset
- Fixed an issue with auto-updating that would reset the settings to default
- Only using 1 thread now to update all the counters
- The link in the About box is now clickable to open the website directly
- Improved the Auto-update mechanism. Starting next update the tool will automatically download the new version and restart.
- Added an ‘Extended’ view mode that shows the location and wp of the events
- The events are now loaded from the Guild Wars Temple are load time. So any new timer on the website is automatically added and supported.
As usual bugs and requests can be posted on the forum.
Version 1.1.1 is out
- Added localization:
* English (default, full)
* German (full, HUGE thank you to arnefi.4698 for his help)
* French (full, I did that one)
* Spanish (incomplete) - Fixed the layout to handle the localized strings properly has the sentence length can vary from one language to another
- Added separators between each timer
- Changed from of the labels to be in bold to be easier to read
Known issue: the labels can extend beyond the borders.
Because I am using a custom made label class (for background and text transparency) the auto ellipsis does not work at the moment.
I will try to find a way to fix it.
Meanwhile I have added tooltip to the labels with the same text so when you over the label you will see the full text in the tooltip
Version 1.1.2 is out.
I completed the Spanish localization thanks to Thorzilla.9124
Version 1.2 is out.
- Added support to let users select their language (Default is Windows current Culture)
- Fixed some localization
- Added mechanism to save/load the settings to file in case they cannot be saved in Windows registry.
- Added support to show the new timers that have been added to Guild Wars Temple since last time you ran the tool.
- Timers background will change colors based on the status of the timer:
- Nothing to signal (or already looted) = default light gray background
- Less than x minutes before the event = Light Skye Blue
- Event in progress (or in windows because I cannot distinguish them) = Light Coral.
The reason behind the choice of colors:
Light blue because you have a few minutes to pack up and make your way to the event.
Light red because you need to get moving if you want to get there in time to loot anything.
Version 1.2.1 is out
- Minor localization fix
- Added support to configure the server daily reset time (in the options)
Version 1.3.1 is out.
- Fixed a bug when changing month that was causing the application to not start.
- Added support to copy the event WP in the clipboard.
Right click on the event and select ‘Copy WP’ it will copy into the clipboard so you can paste it in the ingame chat and then click on the WP.
If you experience any issue, with the WP, please report the language and event.
Version 1.4 is out
- Integrated some GW2 API (mainly getting the servers list)
- Fixed the application to use the new format from Guild Wars Temple
- Fixed the ‘Copy WP’ function to correctly copy the WP to the clipboard. Removed all support to get waypoints from the Guild Wars 2 Wiki. Because they changed the way to data is accessed, I cannot extract the WP anymore from them. Instead the tool now holds all the waypoint. That should also make it a bit faster because it does not have to go fetch/parse the data.
My apologies for taking so long to fix these issues.
As my wife will give birth to our twins next week, and that makes our life is a kittenaotic at the moment.
After that things should go back to normal.
Version 1.5 is out.
I added support to automatically remove the empty timers and the unknown timers that some people get.
As I cannot reproduce the issue on my computers, I am hoping that what I did will fix the issue.
If it happens again, send me a message and I will see what else I can do.
I also added a new option to have the tool has top most (in front of everything else) in compact mode.
Go to Options -> Properties -> Top Most in Compact Mode
The option is disabled by default to keep the old behavior, but it is persisted if you change it.
