GuildCast Ep66: Wounded Llama

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guild-wars-2-march-update-gc-66/

This week on GuildCast, the gang talks about the Guild Wars 2 March Update, the greatest April fools joke ever Super Adventure Box, the death of eight different team tournaments and more.

The Guild Wars 2 March update landed and Gary has quite a bit to catch up on since he decided to take off to GDC. Gary talks with Richie and Elix about all the new content that came with the game as well as the new area.

There were also some new characters added, named Braham and Rox.

Other changes made include the addition of leader boards and progression in WvW. And in case you missed it, culling has been culled.

Super Adventure Box

It appears we may have a new winner of April Fools. ArenaNet put a lot of work into this one, and.. If you missed it.. It’s sticking around. Rather than just creating a trailer showing some thing that would be totally ridiculous and yet amazingly awesome to have in game. They just went ahead and put it in the game.

There’s some question as to how long it’s going to last, but it seems most of the community is hoping it will be forever.

While the Super Adventure Box may not stay in game forever, ArenaNet has been nice enough to upload the soundtrack to their April Fool’s joke up to Soundcloud for everyone to enjoy. If you haven’t popped over and taken a listen, I definitely suggest you do.

All that and more…

To see everything the hosts have to say about all of this and more watch the video!

And remember, we love getting viewer questions. If you have a question to send to the crew, you can send it to submit@gamebreaker.tv. And, if you want to make a video question, be sure it’s around 30 seconds long and you send us a YouTube link.

And, as always… If you missed last week’s episode, be sure to check it out here.

GuildCast 46: RNG Sends Guild Wars 2 Players Raging to the Forums
http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/rng-rage/

Feeling lucky?

If you’re one of the many people who have been buying Black Lion keys, then probably not.

The low drop rate and dice rolling of RNG has meant some people have blown a whole lot of cash in the gem store to end up with not a lot in the way of Halloween goodies. Did you get a chainsaw sword skin on your first try? If so, don’t mention it to Elisabeth.

We look at the controversy and whether the response by ArenaNet is up to par.

Whether this aspect of the festivities has left you pulling your hair out, there’s no doubt there’s a lot of content strewn across Tyria to sink your sweet tooth into. We talk about just what is available and whether we’re getting indigestion from all the candy corn — seriously, does anyone actually eat that vile stuff?

Patch notes arrive with the regularity of Gary’s troll videos and this week is no exception — in either case.

Karma rewards were added. Is this a good thing? Is the dance I just had to do at the mere mention of it an indication?

There’s a skritt burgular on the loose. Yes, a burgular. Don’t ask questions.

Before we get lost in theft and too many vowels, we talk about just what has landed in Guild Wars 2 with this new patch beyond all the spooky goings on.

Class tweaks and changes have arrived, particularly for all you Elementalists out there. Guardian’s also saw some adjustments, will I explode into a fiery rage? It is Wednesday after all…

Throw in viewer questions and that’s a whole lot of show to take care of. Joining GAMEBREAKER’s Gary Gannon are Richie Procopio, Massively‘s Elisabeth Cardy and ZAM‘s Scott Hawkes for a troll dancing episode of GuildCast!

GuildCast 47: Guild Wars 2’s First Holiday Event Under the Microscope

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/stop-the-madness/

There’s been a lot of madness going on in Tyria.

But, perhaps even as you read this, it is coming to an end.

The Halloween event for Guild Wars 2 reached its final phase today. What were the highlights? Did you go slaughtering with abandon in the Labyrinth? How many keyboards did you destroy in a fit of anger when running the Clocktower?

The GuildCast crew tell us what their experiences have been and just how this first seasonal event for GW2 ranks alongside other MMOs.

The rumor is that a big update is arriving on November 15. Can the source be trusted? And if so what does the information enclosed in the leak really mean?

Is there a complete new addition coming to PvE? What landmass could soon be opened up for exploration? We ponder the possibilities.

From November 1, free transfers are limited to once a week. Have people been server hopping? We talk at the reasons behind the restriction and whether it fixes the underlying problem.

What is certainly an overlying problem is that guesting is not in the game yet. It is apparently coming soon, but with it coming much later than expected, what issues has it caused to the player base?

The gamers four letter word “bots” has been a thorny issue and ArenaNet appears to be responding stridently. Has the dev team really “got this”? We talk about the prevalence of an issue that is of great concern to many.

That’s a whole lot to of content to take care of but we still manage to squeeze in your viewer questions.

Richie Procopio is unable to be with us due to the malevolent Sandy this week, best wishes to @bogotter!

In his stead is GAMEBREAKER’s ever convivial Jason Winter along with Gary Gannon, ZAM’s Scott Hawkes and Massively‘s Elisabeth Cardy for a fright inducing episode of GuildCast!

GuildCast 49: ArenaNet Unveils The Lost Shores in Guild Wars 2

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/fear-the-gear-grind/

Calm down, it’s all going to be OK…

There’s even more to talk about than usual this week as details of The Lost Shores hit and sent ripples of rage through the message boards.

Ascended gear is the big point of contention. Is this the beginning of a gear grind? Is ArenaNet really dipping its toe in the water of vertical progression? We talk it through and ask is gear progression really so bad?

The new dungeons Fractals of the Mists sounds fascinating. This time challenged dungeon progresses in difficulty the more you complete it. Is this a never ending experience?

The Temple of the Silent Storm brings Kodan into PvP, on an iceberg! It’s the setting we hoped for in a previous episode. We talk about what information has been gleaned so far.

The event kicks off on Friday, November 16. Just what can we expect? And is having the one time element of the event on Sunday enough to answer the whiners? Most likely, no.

With viewer questions there’s a lot for our crew to chew over.

GuildCast 50: The Lost Shores Lands to Mixed Responses

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guardian-staff-gets-the-love/

It’s been a great week for fans of shellfish.

The Lost Shores event broke across Lion’s Arch unleashing the dreaded karka on the unsuspecting denizens. Reactions were somewhat mixed due to some technical issues. We discuss what exactly went on.

ArenaNet‘s Chris Whiteside responded to the weekend with a new blog post, covering not only the lessons learned from the criticism from the gaming populace, but also how Guild Wars 2 will be affected by changes coming down the pipe.

Not one to get hung up on past issues, Whiteside outlined a large number of changes, including a complete revamp of all the current dungeons and new additions to Fractals of the Mists.

The crew gets detailed on why there might be a need for changes to current dungeon encounters and just whether roles need to play an important part.

A raft of class changes came out along with the other new content, what were the big changes? Will a certain Guardian be spitting feathers?

With your viewer questions neatly rounding everything off, your regular team is on hand to answer your queries.

GuildCast 51: WintersDay Confirmed alongside AMA Marathon

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/christmas-comes-early/

Dust off your baubles and whip out your tinsel, WintersDay is coming!

ArenaNet announced that Guild Wars 2 will carry on the hallowed seasonal holiday from December 14 to January 3 — if the world hasn’t ended of course.

Though this can’t possibly be quite the same religious experience as in Guild Wars, there are a few clues to what might be going on.

We talk about how the extended period gives cheer for your crew and for players in general.

Chris Whiteside strapped himself in and launched into a marathon bombardment of questions and frustrations, also known as a Reddit AMA.

With promises such as “to focus on zero grind” did the AMA help or hinder the move to assuage the fears of GW2 players who fear a gear grind like those that focus the endgame of other MMOs? We look at what was detailed and how it was outlined.

Those in need of a short back and sides or even an extreme make over can rejoice as the gem store can now take care of your fashion needs. Did you rush through character creation and have an Asura that looks like E.T.’s ugly grandmother? We talk about our own experience with character creation and whether the cost of the kits is equitable.

Add in questions from our viewers including whether PvP is getting enough love and the show is rounded out and ready for your enjoyment.

Joining Gary Gannon this week are Massively‘s Elisabeth Cardy and ZAM‘s Scott Hawkes. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, don’t worry you can still watch this week’s GuildCast!

GuildCast 52: No Need to Panic and Enough Content for a Free Expansion

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/expansion-for-free/

Panic on the streets of London…

But enough Smiths references, there’s no need to be running around waving your hands in a frantic manner for ArenaNet, NCSoft‘s “realignment” announcement isn’t related to Guild Wars 2 in any way, as confirmed by Martin Kerstein today. We discuss the ramifications of the sad news of job losses for NCSoft and the way ArenaNet’s staff model seems to differ to that of many MMO developers.

Colin Johanson got chatty this week and revealed some saliva inducing info for PvP worshipers. Is the infrastructure that could get competitive eSport PvP on its way? How long will it be until the work the designers are putting in right now bears fruit? We ponder the possibilities and talk about eSports and MMOs in general.

Also we are apparently about to be blown over by a tidal force of new content. Enough new bells and whistles in January and February will be added to add up to a free expansion’s worth of content. First of all, that’s a bit good isn’t it? But does this set up a precedent that will be difficult to match? Is ArenaNet planning on a constant deluge of new awesomesauce?

With patch notes and viewer questions — yes my overlords, they are finally getting your triumphant message, I am preparing them oh masters — the crew is on hand to guide you through.

GuildCast 53: The WintersDay Update’s Details Emerge

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/wintersday-wonderland/

WintersDay details emerge along with a trailer to engender that festive spirit.

That and unabashed delight at the sight of quaggans in Santa hats for Elisabeth.

Is the vision of ArenaNet‘s latest seasonal event full of cheer? Or is there a festive Guild Wars 2 hangover ahead? We give our impressions as we prepare for tomorrow’s launch.

It’s not all snowmen in globes and mistletoe though, Dub v Dub is getting some love, including the end of the Alt F4 tyranny. Want to insta quit in a fight? Cool, thanks for the insta loot and XP.

Noob.

The architecture for saving accounts from the dreaded invasion of hackers has been improved, which means you can recover most of your stuff. Which is nice. But ArenaNet says it’s a one time deal. Is that fair? Can players be blamed for being hacked multiple times? We ponder the ins and outs of ANet’s approach.

GuildCast 54: WintersDay Analysis and Patch Note Discussion

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/jolly-fine-chaps/

The Infiniraririrrirum — ium — landed in cities across Tyria this week, bringing festivities and fun as well as a terrifying presence in the sky that makes Godzilla look like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

Seriously, how unnerving is that airship?

Onto the content itself, just what has WintersDay wrought on the major cities? Lion’s Arch looks phenomenal but the other racial capitals are comparatively untouched. Is this a disappointment? Or, considering the incredible transformation to come to Lion’s Arch, is it completely understandable? We discuss the pros and cons.

Black Lion Chests get a nice overhaul. Permanent quality of life items can now be sold for a tidy profit on the Trading Post and the chances of getting something worthwhile are increased! It’s also less likely for you to get yet another tonic! Is it all good news or can our team of humbugs find something to whinge about?

Underwater combat is improved in the latest round of patch note goodness. Engineers do a dance of joy at the change to sigils, throwing their grenades out in celebration — until they notice their bang is 30% less noisy. We discuss the changes that have been implemented including the reasons for locking in weapons in sPvP. Richie might have sniffed out something that could prove good news for those awaiting eSports functionality.

Add your questions on WintersDay and the gang have their hands full. Fortunately, they came dressed for hard labor.

Joining the fully trousered Gary Gannon are the inimitable Richie Procopio, Massively‘s Elisabeth Cardy and ZAM’s* Scott Hawkes* for a chillier than usual edition of GuildCast!

GuildCast 55: Fractals Improvements and Viewers’ Hopes for Guild Wars 2

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/to-raid-or-not-to-raid/

Welcome to the carbohydrate recovery edition of GuildCast.

Coming at the end of January, those poor unfortunate souls who have found themselves booted out of Fractals due to the cat pushing your power button — curse you Ziggy! — will actually be able to rejoin their party. It might seem insane that you can’t do that already.

An odd oversight or could there be other reasons for this late implementation?

Another change to come along to Fractals will be the new downranking style for party members. With the new patch you will be able to group with players who are lower level for FotM and though you won’t climb up the ladder you will still get Karma rewards. Surely this is a change that will be welcomed by all?

Though it has been a quiet week for Guild Wars 2 news due to the holidays, we ensured this week’s episode will still be suitably stuffed thanks to your suggestions on what you would like to see for your favorite game in 2013.

Is a dungeon finder a necessary evil? Or is it really evil at all? Are guild halls the answer for uniting guild members in a common goal? And are guilds really necessary, especially for PvE content in GW2? We talk about all the ramifications and pose the topic that makes message boards explode: would raiding be a good thing in Guild Wars 2?

Add some more of your astute questions and you have your festive fare sorted. Joining host Gary Gannon is Richie Bogotter Procopio and ZAM‘s Scott Hawkes for a highly organized and social edition of GuildCast!

GuildCast Ep56: Are New WvW Maps On The Way?

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/expansion/

Welcome to the very first GuildCast of a brand new year.

This week, Gary Gannon, Elisabeth Cardy and Richie Procopio are joined by Jason Winter. News may have been low due to the holidays, but that didn’t stop Richie from digging the depths of the Guild Wars 2 forums to find an interesting tidbit from Colin Johanson regarding WvW maps.

And, of course with the new year comes talk of expansions. Will we be seeing one this year?

We even gave you guys the chance to chime in on this matter.

GuildCast Ep57: The Not-Quite Guild Wars 2 Expansion

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guild-wars-video/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guildcast-ep57-not-quite-guild-wars-2-expansion/

The Guild Wars 2 “expansion” will not be so expansion-like.

Welcome to another week of GuildCast the Guild Wars 2 show. This week Colin Johanson sets players straight regarding their expectations of a Guild Wars 2 “expansion”. A quote from Johanson states that:

“To set expectations accordingly, the January release will be a relatively small release that sets the table for the stories and features we plan to roll out with the Feb/March releases and beyond. also, there will be no new race, profession, or new region with these larger Feb/March releases.”

So, while technically there may be enough content amount-wise to equal an expansion, the kind of content being released may not what players imagine when they think “Guild Wars 2 expansion.”

Culling may actually be removed from dub v dubs.

So while there won’t be a true Guild Wars 2 expansion any time soon, players might be happy to know that engineering programmers are hard at work on the issue of culling in dub v dubs. The team does believe they can do it and look forward to making the announcement that it’s been done.

More players are smacked by the ban-hammer for exploiting.

Really guys? Really? You didn’t learn the last time around that ArenaNet is serious about this whole “Do not exploit.” business?

Yes, we know… you didn’t know it was an exploit. It’s ArenaNet’s fault for letting it through. The problem here is that they don’t buy that. In fact, support Liason Gaile Gray had this to say about it:

“Any time you take one think and can make two, and then four, and then sixteen… Ya gotta know that’s just wrong. (I won’t quibble on the odds, but overall, that form of doubling was not outside the realm of possibility.) And to perform this action hundreds and hundreds of times? That’s called ‘exploitation,’ and that’s against the user agreement, the rules of conduct, and all that is holy.”

All this, plus your viewer questions on this week’s episode. And, if you happened to miss last week’s GuildCast, you can check it out here.

So… Join Gary Gannon, Richie “Bogotter” Procopio, Massively‘s Elisabeth Cardy and ZAM‘s Scott Hawkes for another expansive edition of GuildCast!

GuildCast Ep58: Brohanson & Pho

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guild-wars-2-january-patch-guildcast-58/

Looking for info on the Guild Wars 2 January patch, Flame and Frost? We have you covered.

The GuildCast crew is back with two weeks worth of news, starting with the Guild Wars 2 January patch, Flame and Frost. The patch, set to arrive on January 28th is the first part of a big story arc that will be doled out over the coming months.

According to a lore teaser it seems some bad things will be occurring in the Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau — perhaps something involving elementals?

The patch will also include stuff for PvP fans, improvements to the achievement system and dailies as well as guesting. Of course the most important thing that will arrive with the patch are baby quaggan backpacks. Let’s not try to think about how those are made.

Colin Johanson details what players can expect over the next six months.

Obviously, the first thing we can expect is the Guild Wars 2 January patch, but what else can players look forward to?

According to Johanson, the team is focused on expanding the achievement system to allow players to earn new rewards for their achievements and take advantage of the open world experience. Support will even be added so daily achievements will be different for each day of the week.

ArenaNet is also working on adding content that will allow guilds to go on missions together. And, a system of prestige and advancement is being designed just for WvW that will give players a progression path where they can earn WvW-only abilities and bonuses.

In case you missed it, Scott Hawkes got to sit down with Colin Johanson for a ZAM interview!

The interview covers the Guild Wars 2 January patch, raiding, content for guilds, and even more. We highly suggest you check it out after the show.

GuildCast Ep59: Dead Quaggan

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guild-wars-2-january-patch-guildcast-59/

The Guild Wars 2 January patch is here!

For a “small” patch the Guild Wars 2 January patch is pretty impressive. And, it seems like the devs put a lot of thought in to some of the small details, such as how to get players to realize there’s new content and where it’s located.

Signs and Heralds

If, for some reason, you’re one of those people that can miss seeing a city if you blink, ArenaNet has you covered — with signs. That’s right, just follow the signs into the city and you should be fine.

Once in any major city, players can count on heralds to tell them where events are happening. This, plus the addition of a whole new achievement category, is certain to get people traveling around the world. It seems like it should also have a long running value as the devs can just “alert” the heralds whenever something new is going on and the heralds can send players on their way. And, well… let’s face it… who doesn’t enjoy getting achievements?

New laurels and the daily system

While there’s no laurel reward for the January monthly, players can look forward to receiving a laurel for completing the daily achievement. The dailies change every day and ArenaNet has even added an underwater combat daily in the Guild Wars 2 January patch.

Eventually, players will be able to pick and choose which parts of the daily they want to do, but that’s a bit off.

Dynamic Leveling

Significant adjustments have been made to dynamic leveling so that players will be weaker when adjusted down and stronger when adjusted up. The upside is that players will be able to receive loot at their own level from any enemy.

Tons more

The hosts discuss all of the above and several other things that came with the Guild Wars 2 January patch. Plus, they take on your viewer questions.

GuildCast Ep60: Flame & Frost

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guild-wars-2-wvw-guildcast-60/

This week on GuildCast, Colin Johanson has things to say about Guild Wars 2 WvW.

According to Colin Johanson Guild Wars 2 WvW updates are on their way! The down side is that they are holding off on pushing them until March to push them because of the massive amount of testing that will have to be done. In march we will see the release of the WvW progression system, new ranks that will be visible to all other players and new specific abilities and bonuses.

Other systems that are being worked on for the Guild Wars 2 WvW are culling, short term goals and general polish.

NCSofts Q4 2012 Earnings!

Guild Wars 2 is doing pretty good things for NCSoft’s bank account. According to the earnings report the game accounts for 45% of the company’s quarter 4 sales. It looks like the game has a good chance for long term growth.

Stat combos!

Good news guys, ANet does plan on adding more stat combos to existing ascended items!

GuildCast Ep61: Forresty Bits

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guild-wars-2-expansion-ep-61/

This week on GuildCast the gang discusses the Guild Wars 2 expansion, uses for karma and Scott’s naughty-bits.

We’ve already heard from Colin Johanson that we shouldn’t expect a Guild Wars 2 expansion in the extremely-near future, but Korean investment firm KDB Daewoo Securites thinks we’ll see one within the year. In fact, they’re so certain they’re willing to stake their reputation on it!

Daewoo claims that the Guild Wars 2 expansion is slated to release in the US and Europe during the second half of the year. Considering the financial structure of Guild Wars 2, the timing seems right. It’s not too wrong to think ArenaNet would do an expansion a year is it?

Daily downsides?

We’ve talked about the good side of the daily system, but what about the bad? Some Reddit users brought up the concern that dailies will detract from players helping out other players. Will the dailies keep players from helping each other out in the best way in order to make their daily achievements instead?

Karma… What’s it good for?

Reddit’s just full of questions today, aren’t they? So this Karma stuff… What do you really use it for?

It seems one player spent about 1.5 million karma on Lost Orrian jewelry boxes and received enough items to sell for about 18 gold 30 silver. We can’t imagine this is the best use of karma. Granted, if you’re working on a legendary then you have plenty to spend your karma on. But, what about everyone else? The hosts have some ideas for things karma could be spent on.

Trolling with roses…

In case you missed it, our own Richie Procopio made a lovely video where he shows everyone how to troll other Guild Wars 2 players with a bouquet of roses. Who ever knew so much mayhem could be caused with flowers?

GuildCast Ep62: Getting Better All The Time

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guild-wars-2-mission-system-gc-62/

This week on GuildCast the gang discusses the Guild Wars 2 mission system, trading post improvements and loot.

Colin Johanson spoke to MMORPG.com earlier this week about the Guild Wars 2 mission system — as well as other things like story. According to Johanson:

The system allows people in a guild to work together to unlock guild upgrades that allow them to go on missions together. These missions can be kicked off by the specific guild that has researched that mission, but once they are activated, anyone can jump in and participate to help the guild finish the mission if they wish.
According to Johanson, there are specific parts of each mission within the Guild Wars 2 mission system that can only be completed by the guild that started them. This should ease any fears that people might have about their guild just being used to get the mission started. He also believes that the system will be a useful tool for guilds looking to recruit new members. As people join a guild on a mission, the guild — ideally — would be able to use it to determine if they stand out enough to invite them into the guild.

Preview comes to the trading post!

The February patch will be here in less than a week and it’s bringing an important change to the trading post. Yes! You will finally be able to try on that armor before buying it. Let’s admit it… No one likes buying an outfit without seeing how it looks — even if it’s a virtual one. But, soon this will no longer be a problem for Guild Wars 2 players.

Loot for champions.

Players have been complaining that there have been issues regarding loot drops from veteran and champion creatures and Colin Johanson took to Reddit to address the issue. According to Johanson, once the issue is fixed, all champion mobs will always drop one blue or better item. However, there is a chance that veterans will still not drop anything.

All this, plus viewer questions…

And as always, if you missed last week’s episode, you can check it out here. And, be sure to check back next week, perhaps we’ll even have more information on the Guild Wars 2 mission system or even an update on loot drops.

GuildCast Ep63: The Guild Wars 2 February Patch Has Arrived!

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guild-wars-2-february-patch-gc-63/

This week on GuildCast: the Guild Wars 2 February Patch has landed, Colin Johanson discusses fan loyalty and more!

The Guild Wars 2 February patch is here and as always, there were a few ups and downs. Players had some issues downloading the patch. And, while the issues didn’t last too long they did take up a period of European prime-time. But that’s okay because everyone got to make unsubscribing jokes on Twitter.

One the troubles were over, however, players got to check out all the new things that came with the Guild Wars 2 February patch. First among these? Everyone’s favorite… Dailies! Richie, Elisabeth and Scott share their feelings on how the new dailies seem to help with the flow a bit.

It does seem like a pretty smart implementation of something a lot of people complain about in other games to have them take them to where other things are happening.

Other changes that landed in the Guild Wars 2 February patch involve the living story and laurels, which of course, wraps back around to the dailies — as well as new items o the laurel vendor store.

The gang discuss guild missions, class changes, store items and more before moving on…

Brohanson speaks!

This time Colin Johanson has been making words about how forgiving GW2 fans really seem to be, saying:

It helps. There’s still plenty of vicious folks who want us to be infallible and I wish we could be but I think we definitely get the benefit of the doubt more often than other studios do because at least we try to have that level of interaction and honesty with our fans as much as we can.
So the question is.. Are Guild Wars 2 fans too forgiving or are they just actually happy with the game and the team? Of course, the fact that they’re not actually paying a monthly sub to play the game may help.

Johanson had quite a bit more to say about things like player experience, what happens to someone who returns after being away and more.

All that plus your viewers questions.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a GuildCast without your questions. If you have a question to send to the crew, you can send it to submit@gamebreaker.tv. And, if you want to make a video question, be sure it’s around 30 seconds long and you send us a YouTube link.

And, as always… If you missed last week’s episode, be sure to check it out here.

GuildCast Ep64: Scott’s Bender

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guild-wars-2-expansion-gc-64-2/

This week on GuildCast we have some details about the March patch, Johanson talks about the possiblity of a Guild Wars 2 expansiokittenome point and more.

We have some sad news on this episode of GuildCast. It seems that that Guild Wars 2 expansion the Korean firm predicted isn’t in the cards… for now. Colin Johanson stated in an interview that:

“Expansions are definitely something that we’ll potentially look at in the future, – we don’t have a timetable on it. We’re open to it, but I think our major focus as a studio is making the living world concept as strong as we possibly can for the players that we’ve got.”

So we will definitely, possibly see ArenaNet potentially looking at a Guild Wars 2 expansion in the future. Good to know?

March Patch Madness
We have a few details from the Guild Wars 2 March patch — very few from GuildWars2.com. But that’s okay.. Because MMORPG.com has us covered. They spoke with WvW coordinator and principal programmer, Habib Loew about a variety of topics including eliminating culling, world xp rank, titles and more.

Name changes!
Yes ladies and gentlemen, name changes are on the way! Let all the RP fans celebrate.

Gem store sales…
So sometimes we find some cool things on the gem store that are worth taking a look at. Don’t worry, we’re not going to plug every bauble we find. But sometimes you just need to share.

All that plus your viewer questions.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a GuildCast without your questions. If you have a question to send to the crew, you can send it to submit@gamebreaker.tv. And, if you want to make a video question, be sure it’s around 30 seconds long and you send us a YouTube link.

GuildCast Ep65: And Then There Were Three

http://www.gamebreaker.tv/video-game-shows/guildcast-guild-wars-show/guild-wars-2-culling-gc-65/

This week on GuildCast, the gang discusses the changes that will be made to Guild Wars 2 culling, world boss loot, pvp and more.

So, it looks like players read a bit more into the getting rid of Guild Wars 2 culling thing than was really there. According to Colin Johanson:

The initial release of this system will be for WvW only. There are additional complications we need to solve with PvE due to the number and variety of creatures on screen that WvW doesn’t need to account for. Later this year, we’ll be expanding as much of the changes to the PvE open world as we can as well.
So for now, the end of Guild Wars 2 culling is for PvP, PvE is something they’re looking into, but that’s something we can expect at a later date and it may not be nearly as encompassing.

World boss loot.

There are some changes to world boss loot coming in the next update. According to lead designer Isaiah Cartwright, players can expect adjustments in the way that the world mega bosses award their loot. In order to continue to provide rewarding loot for mega bosses without overcrowding boss fights, the team has decided that each boss’ guaranteed rare item drop will be moved to a separate chest than regular chests and make them be acquirable once per day across a player’s account.

All that an more.

We also have some more PvP info as well as a discussion on the smaller update plan.

Of course, we also love receiving your questions. If you have a question to send to the crew, you can send it to submit@gamebreaker.tv. And, if you want to make a video question, be sure it’s around 30 seconds long and you send us a YouTube link.
