Whatever happened to the Halloween diorama contest? Has ArenaNet just forgotten about it?

“Winners will be announced on or around Monday, November 5th, 2012 and will be posted on http://www.guildwars2.com/”

So I guess it was always give or take a few days.

There is pretty clearly one stated date there and while they have the “around” part as legal fallback, it’s pretty disappointing for all the people who invested the time into their dioramas, that ArenaNet cba to spend the time to judge it.

Well Anet isn’t the one judging it, it’s the sponsors.
But yeah… we had a deadline to meet and I wish I had more time to take better pictures.

I’m hoping to win, but mentaly preparing myself to loose. ><; I do hope the results will be out soon!

I read the conditions as ArenaNet being the Sponsor:
“ArenaNet, Inc, NC Interactive, Inc., or NCSOFT Europe Ltd. (collectively, “Sponsor”)”

I didn’t even enter – but my girlfriend did, which means my sanity is somewhat dependent on them having a result, whatever it is :-P

I do want to se the best entries also. I did see what other people crafted but I do believe not everyone who participated posted it on a website for all to see.

I did enjoy a contest that was just about who can do the best digital art. Tho some complained about it. I wanted to participate in the Guild Wars 2 Alienware Diorama contest… but it was not avalable for where I live.

Having the CE for the grand prize is amazing. Especialy since the contest required you to sculpt(I know some people didn’t sculpt). The Rytlock statue looks amazing and I’d love to see how it was done, to admire the detail and study it.

I do see myself refrieshing the main page every 5 minutes for the result. XD

If you’re doing that only every five minutes and not pouting at the lack of an update, then you are doing significantly better than my girlfriend xD.

It’s rather scarry really. XD I hate getting hopeful even if I think I did well.
No matter how many people around me like my work… what the judges say is more important.

I am getting rather nervous, especialy not knowig when the results might be up.

Thanks for the heads up Regina – I’ve now gone 3 whole minutes without a pout directed at me from Lyman, so all is well!

I’m still waiting too! Good to hear that they are working on it, sad though if there are so many errors that prevent them from posting results! Hope its not them already contacting winners and waiting for responses.

I’m pretty proud of it, especially since it’s the first time I’ve sculpted in over 3 years. Wish I could’ve shoved more detail shots into the collage.

Well, I’m sure much of the obsessive page-reloading club was also part of the obsessive google image/flickr/photobucket/tumblr… search club – lots of great entries that weren’t on the thread in the Halloween forum or this thread, several of which easily merited at least an honorable mention.

What stunned me was how many of the entries in the gallery that I hadn’t seen yet! Judging this contest must have been agonizing.

I assure you Eveningstar, that Lyman absolutely shrieked at how cute your Asura was when she first saw it, and even I, despite being a cold-hearted veteran Charr of the Iron Legion, with a strong distaste for cute tiny asuras, thought it was pretty darn adorable. We loved looking at the progress right from the unpainted version

Here is my contribution:

By cons I think that given the concerns meet with my image host that did keep pa long as my application has been successful.
Sorry for my English I am also a French (do not throw stones)

Here is the entry I submitted. The Official Rules should have stated that it needed to be submitted in a collage format. I had the impression the ‘example’ was just supposed to help people understand what a diorama was. $70 on supplies and not even an in-game t-shirt, oh well.
