Enjoy your sleep, while it lasts,
But don’t let morning come too fast,
For the time is here for seasonal cheer,
But a mad king is stirring, and he is near.
A woman screams, a black cat wails
Do not fear,tis but a tale,
because for two-fifty years he has been unseen,
when he was said to rise, on Halloween.
There’s a whisper at your window,
a tap on your door,
the sound of creaking,
across your floor,
The thunder claps, the lightning strikes,
The clock has spoken, tis the hour at last,
A season of cheer and playful joy,
A thing that no one can destroy
There’s a noise at the windows,
A rap on the door,
The sound of walking,
Across your floor
Across the sea, the quaggan shout with glee,
“Foo to the mad king, Foo to the ghouls!”
Who knows, this year,
They may be the fools.
The humans jeer and share a drink,
Choosing to ignore the fear that they think,
But at this dark yet cheery hour,
Even the charr are beginning to cower.
A child lets a whimper to his mother’s ear
She says do not fear, but she sheds a tear
Because she knows, for sure
The mad king is near
There’s a shout at your window!
A bang on the door!
There’s the sound of running,
Across your floor
Get out! Get out!
While you still can
There’s something after you
Something quite bad
Because the clock has spoken!
The hour is here!
The mad king is here,
You would be best to fear…
