Help With Making Videos
Are you rendering to h264?
Youtube will process any video uploaded but you can try to take steps to reduce the degradation. Could try uploading the source file and editing online with their editor (it’s not too bad, be sure to uncheck public stats), try a small test video since the file size is generally larger on the raw files.
Yeah, every attempt is in h264.
I have tried uploading the original recording (huge file size) prior to rendering it through an editor, and it seems to actually come out worse on Youtube… Yet when I view the original recording it is crystal clear. I don’t get how a lot of Guild Wars 2 youtubers get really clear gameplay footage to upload to Youtube.
What the heck am I missing? I even just downloaded the trial of Sony Vegas Pro 13 cause that seems to be what everyone is using, but there is literally no difference in the quality on Youtube. Is there some trick to getting around the compression that Youtube does? Like is there a specific setting I can render my vids at? I am just so lost with this whole thing and so frustrated, this shouldn’t be this difficult.
Video codecs are really a black art at times.
Got any examples to check?
this only recording i have in max out gw2 setting(+ sweetfx) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POtxNFuP-RI
when i record i use open broad cast i normally set it to 4k but that clip i recorded it at 15k max bit rate.
i am not sure if that helpful i do not upload to much stuff in general i pretty nooby at it xD.
I can get some screenshots/sample vids linked tomorrow, once again, been at this all day watching tutorials that don’t help one bit. It’s like everyone has a different answer and none of them yield any good results….
I really wanted to get into this whole content creation for GW2 but maybe this just isn’t for me :-(
I just don’t get how people get pretty darn clear videos when others don’t. Is it a prestige thing? Like if you’re popular on Youtube you get better encoding? I mean sure I could make vids for GW2 and disregard the quality of how they upload, but who is gonna want to watch my vids if they are a bad quality. Ugh, this is more frustrating than it’s worth :’-(
