I dont like treahearne
But, but I actually like Traehearne. That being said, your animation is pretty good, if a tad violent :P.
Brilliant! Made me laugh. I don’t like him either. Always upstaging my character while she does all the hard work.
Driving a plank into the ground, and doing it right.
(Because an angry Norn with a Hammer is always right.)
Great! Now please make one where Gwen get’s smacked around. She deserves it even more. >:D

eeeh i miiiight have exagerated what i feel, but just for the sake of making that animation, had a lot of fun doing it
but im curious o: why do you like him?
i mean he is not absolutely hateful, i hated instantly many many more characters before him, i dont hate him as much, but i do not like him, i wanna know why somebody that likes him to consider my hate better xP
hehehe! I love her expression! awesome
Every time he says “This will not end well” I wish I could smack him around
@Fsnowzombie: First off, it should be noted that I haven’t played through the whole story, so I haven’t experienced every scene involving Traehearne :P. From what I have seen, he seems to be a rather dour and somewhat pessimistic individual. Perhaps that appeals to me, it almost adds a different voice that contrasts with some of the more kitteny personalities that often exist in these games.
He also seems to be a non-stereotypical hero. So many games out there make out characters as being able to take on anything and everything, it’s a nice change of pace to have someone say ‘This will not end well’ and expect that those deadly situations have a strong potential of ending poorly.
Actually one of the things I really like about this game (and that so many seem not to like XD). Is that your character is not the savior of the world, it isn’t all about your epic journey (many claim Trahearne steals the spotlight). In many games it is about your character facing the ultimate threat, with everything resting on your shoulders. This game more has a multitude of very important characters (Trahearne, Zolja, Eir, Logan, Ritlock, Caithe, etc.) that all play an important role. Note though that even these extremely important and powerful characters can’t do things alone (they often need support from each other or other people to succeed).
Your character feels like someone who is important, does more than a rank and file soldier, but isn’t the world’s sole hope for survival (nobody truly fills that role in this game). I like to play this game thinking that my character isn’t all important, when I fight a champion, it usually takes a large number of players to do it, so while were important and skilled enough to do it, it is our combined effort that makes it all possible (much like the pacts effort is what makes the war against Zhaitan possible).
(Rant over)
I guess it isn’t so much that I like Trahearne, so much that the arguments I usually see arrayed against him are things that I actually think help make this a better story.
…….Well, that wasn’t nearly as clear as I would have liked it XD.

funny enough, i dont really dislike trahearne because of what you said O:
except for the story missions, its supposed to be your story, your character even says it at the end of the opening cinematic, then SPOILERS after claw island trahearne takes over ( and quite noticable) and it ends up being about his wyld hunt instead of your story, thats the main concern, i wouldnt have minded if im not the one leading everything and being the hero in shining armor destroying all the dragons, not at all! i seriously dont mind being a high ranked soldier or a novice, what i did not like at all is that your character steps out of the spotlight of its own story, and your “personal” story becomes traheraneĀ“s
also when he says “this will not end well” i see that a lot of ppl think he says it in a pesimistic way but he really says it in a quite confident way he is basically not adding the “for you enemies” at the end xD i dont mind that line, is better than “this rose has thorns……. and here they are!”
and what i absolutely hate about him is
""""""" SPOILERSSSSSSSSSSSS """""
when he goes to the marshal position he is no longer the underdog, he is no longer the scholar that is scared about actually completing what he was born to do, he becomes quite confident and narcisistic, he even talks trash to zhaitan at some points, i guess a pretty title gives you enough confidence to actually behave completely different from what you used to be 1 day ago huh? its probably not that bad for some ppl but i personally dispice hypocrit people, it almost felt like he faked his generosity to gain the actual power to be able to complete his own personal goal, because in the sotry right after he completes his wyld hunt, you go out to take out zhaitan and he is like WELP GOOD LUCK man i basically did what i came to do and you can go and have fun with the dragon that is almostly certian going to kill you, i dont know you but i think a marshall should not have stepped out of the basically most important assault against the enemy that has been the archnemesis of basically the whole world
and thats my reason why i dislike trahearne, i dont mind that somebody took the hands of the operation, i just wouldve prefered anybody else but him basically of all the characters i met he was the less appealing to me
of course im not trying to change your mind in any way, its totally fine if you like him, but being that i just posted this and was like HUUURP DURP I HATE HIMALSDJFLASD i shouldve given a more concrete version of why i dont like him lol
All good, we each have our own opinions. Note though that as I go through the story my opinion might change
.
Just my last comment (and completely off topic ), while some might not, I enjoy having characters that I like less so than others (say annoying ones, ones who lack confidence, or other things) along with those that are more typically seen as awesome characters. I appreciate the less awesome characters for what they are; if every character was an awesome character, then the story would probably turn out less dynamic and multi-faceted than with those less awesomes
.
