-Jordyn and Leyah-
As i stood at the post in the city of ships,
upturned on their stern, bow to the skies…
A curious voice i did hear in between
the greed and the hate and the lies.
Children, dear beast, calm the heart without pause
in the city of pirates “sans sea”
I left from the post and rounded the corner, dear
who teaches children to make sounds such as glee here?
In the city of lions arch.
Smaller in size than the youngest of cubs,
without fur save for that on her head.
Dressed in cloth without stature,
and threads nothing fine,
little human with prey on her mind.
Her prey is like me, a charr with with a face
most commonly seen in the ash.
Delicate, long, with ears facing back,
horns pretty long and temperament rash.
In a city so filthy,
in a country so broken,
a nation divided by greed.
What innocence here have i found in these cubs,
their laughter, deceit and taint flee.
A union forbidden by my generation,
the wars we will not soon forget.
Humans playing with monsters,
Charr playing with food,
No ignorance, but indifference,
Tyrias deliverance,
after all,
was the product of kids and not dragons.

(I wrote this based on the remarkable interaction i saw between two NPC’s in lions arch, behind the trading post, Jordyn the 15 year old human girl and Leyah, the charr cub who claims to aim to change the laws disallowing humans to be members of charr warbands when she becomes “legionnaire”. The two consider eachother to be a warband as it is.)
