Is there anything M$ is not afraid to ask $$ for ? I’m so done with them,honestly.No xbox will ever get into my house again. ( except the one collecting dust as we speak and is waiting for gta5 to be popped in :p ).

From the face of it Anet might have a case here. but its up to anet/ncsoft if they actually want to sue, not us.

Immitation is the best form of flattery. What might happen if Anet/ncsoft sues is that Microsoft will keep the items up but anet will get a cut of the sales in the settlement.

I think you’re all missing the point here. On M$ you can get a legendary for a mere 400 mspoints. Hell I’d get one instead of grinding a twilight.

Did it ever cross anyone’s mind that the company who created these might have asked Anet for their blessing and even offered a cut of the profit?

Maybe they look the way they do on purpose.

1. There is no case here.

2. Microsoft could litigate the issue until Anet bleeds dry of money and begs Microsoft to just settle privately behind closed doors. In which most times large companies just pay the smaller ones legal bill and tells them to go away.

Juast as bad as Asura gates being similar to the Stargates…

Point is, certain aspects will be copied because the people working on those things are, maybe, just maybe, fans or like the way it looks. However due to copy right issues they need to slighlty differ.

There is the other side of the coin – where companies copy each other blatantly because its all about $$$.
