Not bad, your always going to get someone that tells you your doing this and that wrong ect ect. Just ignore those people and have fun with your video’s.

Ya this video is very accurate to what true roaming is half the time you’re just tring to split up groups of people to get 1v1 or 1v2 and if you notice even RIOT videos they don’t fully commit to killing unless others around are confused and looking for them. That means not much more than 1-2 people will attack them at anytime. Your build seems cool ad different too looks like you went in the acrobatics line which isn’t done usually.

Narrating why certain skills are activated, mistakes you make, mistakes the other player makes, etc are what makes a video good/bad in my book. You had some of that in here but not enough. You should elaborate more on your attack/defense process before, during and after an engagement. Yishi videos are awesome at that style of narration. Video and sound quality were both fine.

The fighting was lackluster and clearly none of the fights were against decent roamers but I don’t think that was the point of video.

Ultimately you have to ask why you are making the video. If it is a vanity thing, most won’t care. If it is for an educational process, focus on teaching. All in all a good start though.

Wow guys! I’m completely overwhelmed by the positive responses. You guys have no idea how great and appreciative i feel about that. @D best.3547, Glad to know I’m doing things right. I don’t claim to be an expert, and I’m learning as I go. @Straegen.2938, good tip – ill try to narrate mistakes I make as well as the other players in new videos.

No need to be an expert to show and narrate combat videos. Videos that focus on solid fights, that aren’t cherry picked victories with an insight into a fight are simply fantastic and help almost all of us improve our skills.

Excellent point if you are going to narrate record it after you film. To make sure the narration is constant enough to keep viewers interested(you had like some long awkward silences in there). Still great for a first video.

I agree, more narration

Was nice to watch even if your opponents werent the best, and you yourself did a few odd things (most notably spamming #4 wasting all your initative when your target was clearly out of range), but thats half the interest of recording your fights. I found very quickly when I first started recording fights I had that I saw really obvious things I should / should not have done but I didnt notice at the time. Helps you get better I feel because next time you come up against that class/build you have that thing in mind.

Carry on

I personally appreciated that this was just a normal thief experience, and not a thief killing 6 people simulataneously while capping a camp and drinking a smoothie. An honest video is hard to argue with, which is why you don’t see people being negative. Also the build doesn’t use the stealth heal, which 90% of WvW thieves use, so you at least get points for taking a more spvp/duel focused build into WvW.

Thanks. Much tougher as a thief to go out into WvW with minimal stealth for sure.

I like it! I like how you don’t overtalk on what you’re doing, but giving these small tips and tricks as to WHY you are doing certain things. Keep it up! ^^
