New database - nourishment items
seems cool, thanks…
I looked up, just for example, magic find…your database is missing items: i.e. those halloween recipes…Spicy Pumpkin cookie, Candy Corn cookie, etc.
Thanks for the tip, I completely missed those as I didn’t buy these recipes and only had the discoverable ones. (I should probably double-check snowflake recipes as well)
Now the only thing that remains to be added is normal vendor food.

You are welcome. =)
Nicely done!
I bookmarked
Added 9 new recipes from the April patch, doesn’t look like there were more.
Tried it on my iPad but it didn’t work. The submit button couldn’t be used.

I tried a fix, let me know if it’s still broken. I don’t have an iPad to test it myself.
edit: you may need to do a hard refresh of the page, not sure how it’s done on iPads (like shift+ reload on Firefox)

Just discovered your DB. Very cool.
It’s pretty helpful.
The only thing I’d ask for is, after finding an item that it provided a direct link to the recipe.
Thanks for all the work you put in already

I added direct links to each item’s official wiki page, you can click on the item names now.
Hope that helps, those pages should normally display the recipes.

Wow. That was fast!
This made my chef very, very happy
And just so you know I’ll be recommending this resource to just about anyone that will listen
Thanks again for all your time and effort on this!
Glad you like it
Great Utility. Thanks for this!
Added Zhaitaffy vendor items.
Also I checked it out on my Android tablet, and I’m not impressed by how the drop down menus are handled there. Not sure how to fix…
OP
Well Done
Thanks for being Considerate to the community by creating this helpful database guide.
Good work I wonder if you can add a link to it on the wiki?

I’m not sure what is the wiki policy on such links.
Updated for Ferocity changes, made some minor fixes and additions. If anything is missing, you can let me know here.
+1 internetz for you , bookmarked.

I have no experience in programming, but would like to ask, would it be possible for you to include price information along with each food?
I’ve seen some sites which use API ( though I do not know what does api stands for ) of gw2 to get the current prices of all items on tp, so is it possible for you to do the same, that feature would be awesome!

One of my guildmates made up a very simple Excel spreadsheet that linked to the GW2 BLTC API. Every time you refresh it, it takes a data dump of all the items in the API and shows the current price. Being a spreadsheet you could then manipulate the data so that you could have it calculate the pros and cons of buying mats to craft them up to whatever item.
I’d imagine that linking it into a database wouldn’t be significantly more difficult than doing it in Excel, but then I’m no programmer so…
Edit: I see that it’s been done in wiki markup. Linking it to the BLTC API might be a little troublesome I suspect

I once tried to figure out how to use API, but it’s beyond my skill. It shouldn’t be hard for someone who knows what he’s doing, but for me, this is probably the second most complicated Javascript project I’ve managed to make.
Nicely done,OP.
I wasn’t very happy by the limitations of the Food article on the wiki, so I made a database that makes searching for the perfect food much easier. Enjoy
You could have updated the article in the sandbox and submitted it for approval from the community. You still can do that if you wish.

Updating the official wiki is not the problem here. It’s that the best you can do on a vanilla wiki is a fancy table, and that does not work very well when you have almost 400 food items that you need to compare when you play.
Btw, one of the features of my database is an automatic creation of the tables of the official wiki, so anyone can update that article if he wants to (instructions here).

Added cactus food, searchable by “account bound” (in drop downs or search box).
Technically there’s some irrelevant bread that’s also bound, but it’s not listed as such in my database so it doesn’t pollute the results.

The wiki is missing at least one (and now I am sure more) items that are either food or tools.
The one missing that IS a tool is Tin Of Fruitcake
[&AgEBLwEA]
When will the food/tool database be brought up to date? As it is Amazon Basin’s food/tool database was GONE for over a month…
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tin_of_Fruitcake
I am surprised more people haven’t used the database and it isn’t listed in any GW2 “how to” anywhere.. and should be.
It’s down again, but still seems to be working in the archive:
I’ll check for missing items once it’s back up.
